According to American Osteopathic Association in 2020, 1 in 5 teens (13-19) will experience some form of noise-induced hearing loss, and nearly 1 in 11 U.S. citizens are affected by hearing loss. Exposure to sound levels above 85 dB (recommended dB for headphones) can cause possible ear damage with exposure of more than two hours, while exposure to sound of 105 to 110 dB can cause damage in less than five minutes.
With this project, we want to create a product that will help decrease the amount of teens affected by hearing loss. The main goal for this product is to make a product accessible to everyone to control and prevent teenagers from being affected by hearing loss.

About Me:
My name is Alejandro Fernandez. I am a senior at Chapin High School in El Paso, Texas, where I'm enrolled in the Magnet Program. I will be graduating this June and afterwards, I will be attending UTEP in the fall of 2023, where I will be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Hardware Engineering. I have always loved how computers are like Lego pieces that make majority of the technology in our world, which is the reason I am pursuing Computer Hardware engineering.
