A Legacy of Love

Mom and I just spent a few hours cataloging the pictures in the slide show shown on the right column.  We added a few pictures and we have a live document (CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE PICTURE CATALOGUE) that we'll be updating with new pictures and information.  The stories included on the catalog are a bit random as I just typed away while mom talked about the photos.  It was fun.

Below, are letters written by Grandma Bessie and Curly Granddad (Roy J. Shaw) around the time of John F. Shaw's death.

Letters from GM Bessie and Curly Granddad

Click on the above image to view the document full-sized.  I thought this was important to share out because it shows the real lives of a loving and caring family.  Curly Granddad took special care to send a quick not to Curly Granmda to let her know how he was doing.  This was at a time when even phone calls were expensive.  There was no Facetime, there were no texts or IMs.  Letters were a big part of staying in contact.
