My Character's name is Alclave, but My IRL Name is Travis.
You may have seen me in suit, wandering around or being a menace if you attended any of these conventions:
Furpoc
Furydelphia
Furcationland
Anthro New England
Eufuria
I enjoy attending cons. You will most likely find me in the lobby, hanging with friends, exploring the city, or playing fursuit games, Go Green Team!
I have been apart of the fandom (officially) since I was 20. I stumbled upon the fandom while I was looking for safe space for myself. I was discovering myself and trying to figure out who I was. At the time i did not see my family as a safe space for me to talk to them about the things I was feeling or experiencing. The town (and the time) was not very accepting of anyone that did not fall within the hetero norms (no pride flags in that town). It was at that point I discovered the Furry Fandom, and found acceptance and a safe space. I do believe that it is because I found this community and acceptance that I was able to flourish and be proud of who I am without needing to be afraid.
The world is a better place when people are smiling. I try to make those around me smile as much as possible through humor or reminiscing about the shenanigans we pulled. Often I am seen as a person to lean on when needed. I will always be there for my family and friends, no matter what. I believe in kindness, honesty, compassion, and empathy and try my hardest to live by those values.
I have met some truly amazing people and life long friends through this fandom
I have been attending cons since 2009. My first Con was King Elliots Spring Gathering, followed by Furfright (RIP Cromwell 🏨). Since then I have not missed a Furfright or Furpoc (I consider this my Home con).
During Furpoc you can find me passing out Candy to those waiting in the registration line. I have been doing this for a few years now (I hope to continue this tradition in 2025). As well as starting up a few panels about tea and plants.
I am currently 41 years old, working Full time in the wonderful world of IT. I have been working IT for most of my adult life, and have enjoyed the field.
My friends would describe me as loyal, trust worthy, and humorous. I have a very strong work ethic, am empathetic and enjoy helping those that need it. I will always be available to lend a shoulder or helping hand.
I spend most of my time working in IT, performing community service, or assisting small local VT businesses with IT needs. When I am not working or volunteering, I enjoy some down time while at the gym, on a hike, kayaking, building computers, or playing some board games with friends. I am a bit of a gamer, but I have found myself playing less games as of late, opting to spend time outside.
In-between everything I tend to my 30+ house plants. Green Derg has a Green Thumb, who would have thought XD. I find it very relaxing, my oldest plants are a lipstick plant and a spider plant, both over 5 years old. They can be temperamental sometimes, but they are happy, except when I leave on vacations.
I enjoy learning new things both within my career and out. I love history and can often be found listening to a documentary about various points in history. Especially if it is medieval Europe or feudal Japan. Occasionally I will switch gears to a good horror series or something more in the world of sci-fi.
It would mean a lot to me if this site was shared, in hopes that it finds the right person.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about me.
