In the second season of Alchemy of Souls, it was revealed that Mudeok was, in fact, Jin Bu-yeon and was rescued by the Jin family with the help of Senior mage Lee. He did keep the fact to himself for three years. Jang Uk and Naksu were, however, meant to meet again. It is only in episode 8 that the two of them realize the truth.

The answer comes in the final moments of episode 10 of Alchemy of Souls season 2. Jin Seol-ran decides to give complete control of Jin Bu-yeon's body to Naksu and disappears after the Fire Bird is taken care of. Following this, Jang Uk and Naksu, with the blessings of the mages of Jinyowon and Songrim, live as a married couple. They are handed the responsibility of hunting down the relics that escaped from Jinyowon's mansion during the fight.

Naksu dying in the end and maybe Jang Uk too seems like a feasible ending. It is true that Naksu had a bitter and painful past; however, the moment she chose to let her anger and rage took over her senses and in a way lead harm to some innocent people, she has become a criminal. Yes she was used by Jin Mu, but she actively participated in his plans wherein lives of young people were lost (I believe innocent ones). Those lives that were taken from performing alchemy of souls to shift the souls of old mages to younger bodies. Also, from the moment Jang Uk hid the truth about Mudeok being Naksu, he was aiding and abetting a criminal. Again, when innocent lives are lost in your quest for revenge, you have become a perpetrator in a way. So I guess, Naksu, prolly Jang Uk too, has to receive some kind of punishments. Death by doing good? Possibly. Any plot is welcome, as long as it will absolve all of the wrongs that they have done and that they can finally be remembered as saviours, not an assassin or a product of alchemy of souls. In saying that, I hope Jin Mu will meet an excruciating ending befitting to an evilest antagonist.

MuDouk is the true eldest daughter of Jinwowan. Naksu died but her spirit lives on in the body of BuYeon. Naksu will eventually and finally leaves the body of BuYeon. JangUk will use his alchemy of soul to get her back but MuDouk appears too. JangUk will decide to reunite with MuDouk, the true eldest daughter aka BuYeon. I hope this happens as I want to see MuDouk makes a reappearance in the finale and her chemistry with JangUk is first class!

I understand that the writers wanted to make things right as it is quite weird and strange to have the male lead and female lead get married and have children and live happily ever after with the female lead having 2 souls in a body that isn't even hers. However, they could have fixed it up right in the middle of season 1 so we could have seen the relationship development of the two with the soul in the correct body and have not invested on Mudeok and Uk. Also it would have given us a chance to have gotten to know Buyeon much better as a separate entity or body from Naksu's soul. But whatever. I'm over it. LOL! I'll let the writer write whatever they want to write. I give up. LOL!

It is a horrible episode not because the OTP did not end up together, or for the FL to stab the ML at the end. It is horrible in my books because I don't feel any wiser at the so called finale. I mean fine MD/JBY is not the true love of Jang Uk so she has to get out of the picture somehow so that the main OTP can be together properly. I don't feel like I get any closure for any of the main questions in the story, chief among them being JBY story. [Am also one of those who only stay on watching the drama for JBY story development, was really looking forward to Mama Jin realization that she almost killed her own daughter or that her daughter killed her own father soul shifter mode knowing that father had a hand in almost killing said daughter, this was the more interesting tangent to me] If they plan to just leave her story hanging like that, I've rather they left MD as a random blind girl on the streets instead of building her story to get me emotionally invested in her character only to have her do absolutely nothing when you have absolutely expected her to do something being the so called most powerful priestess at Daeho.

After premiering its first episode on Netflix last week on December 10, Alchemy of Souls is being simulcast on the streaming service, complete with English subtitles. For Korean audiences, season two will be broadcast via cable network tVN.

The first episode is currently scheduled to air on Saturday, December 10th, 2022. The second season has half the number of episodes as season 1, which takes the total number of episodes to ten.

I was not too impressed with the premise of AoS when I first read about it, but decided to give it a chance mostly for LJW. I think of it as 30-episode drama rather than 2-season drama. I found the world-building consistent, the characters memorable, and the story engaging.

The teaser shows Jang Uk mercilessly slaughtering the soul-shifters with Nak-su's sword. The best part of the teaser is Nak-su's brief entrance in her exquisite white dress. The first season provided little insight into Mu-deok's character, leaving us with much to look forward to in the second season.

The series will stream for a total of five weeks, with two episodes released each week, making Alchemy of Souls season 2 a short ten-episodic series. Although there have been no changes to the episode release dates, there may be delays, and the dates may alter. For your convenience, the release dates for each episode, beginning with the first, are listed below.

The first two episodes will air on Netflix during the first week of its release on December 10 (Saturday) and 11 (Sunday). The episodes will be released every weekend until season 2 concludes on January 10, 2023, according to the schedule.

In this episode of a special Archives in Context season on how the events of 2020 have affected archivists, we meet two of the driving forces behind the Archival Workers Emergency Fund (AWEF): Anna Clutterbuck-Cook, reference librarian at the Massachusetts Historical Society, and Lydia Tang, special collections archivist-librarian at Michigan State University. Anna and Lydia tell us about the origin of AWEF, its impact during the COVID-19 crisis, and how archivists can donate to or receive help from the fund.
