The ALCHEM Lab designs energy materials at the level of electrons and atoms. We combine first-principles simulations with machine learning to understand how materials work, and to discover new ones computationally.

Our research spans the materials behind a sustainable future: electrocatalysts for green hydrogen, catalysts that turn biomass and waste into valuable chemicals, electrode materials and interfaces for next-generation batteries, and the materials and process chemistries of semiconductor manufacturing.
