Yes, A Mobility Radeo 7500 would be just great for 1024x768 with medium details and texturing. Laptop manufacturers suck big time not providing updated drivers for their boards and game developers should get a closer look to the laptop market which is booming (which means more and more customers will use this kind of computer to run their stuff).

Oh and I forgot to mention that I did once have this problem but got it fixed, and I think it was with the above drivers, but tell me if not as I can find out which they were. This is only for Mobility remember.

Helping a family member move and found an old Compaq Evo N600c. 32mb Radeon Mobility video card, 512mb RAM, 1.2 Ghz Pentium III-m. Installed Windows 98SE on it, still trying to get the audio drivers working. I'm thinking of using it mostly for Windows 95/98 games that don't work on my main rig: Starfleet Command and Jane's Fighters Anthology come to mind.

Hi can someone please help me. im new to the forum im normally pretty computer cluey but this laptop has done my head in its the same laptop a compaq evo n600c i have the driver i install them it asks to restart my computer i do so then it asks for the windows 98 cd rom to be inserted. i have the cd in the drive but it does not seem to find the files needed. i have win 98SE and i cant install the ess allegro pci audio driver any help would be great thanks

You could try dr_st's driver above, its got a 50/50 chance of working. or "cheat" and install DOSBox on it. This laptop is well and truly into the WinXP era. Win98 itself was legacy, dos drivers would be aimed more at Admin tasks like imaging more then gaming.

Nice laptops though, it's what I was given at my very first job. Shoulder still hurts sometimes from carrying it round in a laptop bag each and every day for about 4 years though so don't recommend doing that, get a backpack! ?

hello there i have a compaq x1000 laptop and im having problem with it and i need an answer for this and hope you can help me..i was on my laptop and it shutted down in intermitted mode and when i plugged in the a/c adapter since it was low on battery and when i try turning it back on it boots up fans spinning and then a sec or 2 later it shuts down and it contiue doing this when i take the battery out and plug in the a/c adapter it wont turn on at all but when i plug the battery back in with the a/c adapter in it it boots up and then shuts itself off? its weird that it wont turn on without the battery it is 4 years old and i like to know what could be the problem? ty

Check the wireless card in the device manager. Do you see any yellow exclamation mark in the wireless card entry?

Try reinstalling the driver. Try reseating the wireless card, just remove it from the socket and install back in place. Make sure the wireless connection is not disabled.

I cannot give you 100% remedy for this problem, there could be many different hardware or software related issues.

I have a compaq armada 7400 that will not charge the battery. Purchased new battery, but it just ran down the battery and did not recharge. Is there a way to test to see if the charger section is working, or pin out diagram? Should I just purchase an outboard charger?

i have a compaq presario c300. only half the screen works the lower half is just dead pixels, but if you press the bottom right hand corner of the screen the lower half works (just while pressure is applied). this makes me think there is a connection problem so i have disassembled the whole laptop (thank you for directing me to instructions!) but dont know what to look for (was hoping to find a trapped wire or something, but everything seems in order!)

@David The only way i know how is to go to your display properties and click settings then advanced, then click on graphics properties under Intel Graphics Media Accelerator driver. If you have an external monitor there should be two options under display devices. Select the notebook option. 589ccfa754
