We offer two types of sedation that can help you relax while we perform your emergency treatment.

What constitutes a dental emergency?

If you are in severe oral pain or worried that one or more of your teeth may be in imminent danger, we encourage you to take the matter seriously. If you have suffered trauma to the mouth and are experiencing significant discomfort and bleeding as a result, have someone drive you to our office. The earlier we can begin treating your tooth, the better your chances are of enjoying optimal oral health outcomes.

Emergency Treatment Options

Depending on the nature of your dental emergency, our office offers multiple treatment options.

Root canal

One common cause of a dental emergency is a root canal infection. If bacteria reaches the inner pulp of your tooth, the infection can spread quickly and cause severe pain. After using local anesthesia and possibly sedation, one of our doctors can clean the inner chamber of your tooth before sealing your tooth with an inlay, onlay, or crown.

Knocked-out Tooth

If you have experienced a knocked-out tooth, take care to not touch the root of your tooth. If the tooth is dirty, wash the lost tooth out and place it back in the socket if possible. Then, have someone drive you to our office or the nearest dentist within 30 minutes.

Extraction

If your tooth is infected or decayed to the point where it must be removed, one of our doctors can provide safe and effective tooth extraction. Tooth extraction is far more comfortable than many patients expect. After local anesthesia and possibly sedation are used, one of our doctors will use a special tool to gently loosen and then extract your tooth.

Loose Restoration

Crowns, fillings, and other restorations can become loose for a number of reasons. We understand the embarrassment that can accompany a crown that has fallen out. Our doctors will work promptly to reattach the restoration or to provide you with a new filling or prosthetic. In some cases, you may need to be fitted with a temporary prosthetic while your final one is fabricated.
