Fall Band Concert

Members of Gold Band, Concert Band, and Symphonic Band will stay after school on Oct 26nd and perform in the Fall Band Concert.

Students will wear concert black attire (as noted on the band website). Concert black will be worn at every band concert at Albright Middle PVAA. This is especially imortant for UIL competing bands (Symphonic & Concert Bands) to have nice concert black clothes for competition. Thank you!

Taylor 8th Grade Night

Oct 2nd

-ALL 8TH GRADE BAND STUDENTS DRAWN TO TAYLOR-

Dear Albright 8th Grade Band Students and Parents/Guardians,

Alief Independent School District is excited to invite all current 8th grade band students to experience an evening with their future high school at a high school football game! This is a great opportunity for 8th grade band members to experience what high school band will be like by going through what game day at their respective high school is like. The evening will build on the band culture that is already established in Alief and will be an excellent way to show support towards the fine arts programs we have established. Albright 8th grade students will be able to stay with their respective high school through the first half of the game and watch the marching band perform during half time.

All students will stay after school and ride the bus to and from Crump. If you would like to take your child home directly from Crump you MUST parent square Stephanie Wiens by midnight the night before the event.

*Students will wear their Albright Band Shirt with jeans or uniform pants*

The itinerary is as follows:

1:00pm – Depart from Albright Middle School
1:30pm – Arrive at Taylor HS
2:15-4:00pm – Rehearse with the HS band
4:05pm – Meal with band
6:00pm – Arrive at Crump Stadium
7:00pm – Football game starts
8:00pm – Halftime Show
8:30pm - RETURN TO Albright (*Students need to be picked up no later than 9pm)

*Times may vary depending on how long the first half goes, but we highly encourage you to attend the game and watch your students perform in the stands! We appreciate your continued support and look forward to seeing you there!

*Please be aware that your student will be held responsible for any and all behavior choices made throughout the evening. All Directors present will follow district policy.

Alief Band Night

On Tuesday, October 13th Alief ISD Band Students will be going to Alief ISD Band Night!!! This is an educationally fun night where we will watch all four Alief ISD high school bands perform including Elsik, Hastings, Kerr, & Taylor. All students will ride the bus to and from Albright Middle PVAA. Students can be checked out from Crump with Albright’s band directors after the event. Students should wear their band shirt with shorts or uniform pants.

All community members are invited to Alief ISD Band Night!

Schedule:

4:15pm – Report to band room - Students will eat a snack in the cafe before we leave.
5:00pm – Depart Albright for Crump Stadium
6:00pm – Start of Alief Band Night
8:15pm – Depart Crump Stadium (rough estimate)
8:45pm – Students are picked up from ALBRIGHT (rough estimate)

Band Trip to The Ballet - Saturday Oct 24th

Dear Albright Band Students and Parents/Guardians,

On Saturday, October 24th Albright Band students have the opportunity to attend the ballet “A Midsummer Night Dream" at Jones Hall Downtown! This is a special event and there are only 40 student spots available.

We have been given 40 FREE tickets from Performing Arts Houston. Please only turn in this permission form if you are sure you are able to attend.

This form is DUE NO LATER than Friday October 16th. We only have 40 spots available on a first come first serve basis. Students need to dress in “professional dress” for this event.

Kerr High School Band Night - Oct 27th

Kerr High School Band is excited to invite you to our Kerr Band Night Concert on Tuesday, October 27th at 6:30 PM in the Kerr High School Theater. This is a wonderful opportunity for middle school band students to experience our award-winning program firsthand!

Over the past few years, the Kerr Band earned multiple UIL Sweepstakes awards, TMEA State Finalist, National Commended (Runner up) Winner placed 1st at Area and 4th at State in the Outstanding Performance Series, and our Jazz Ensemble was named the Best High School Band of the Competition. In addition, Kerr High School was ranked #2 among Niche Standout High Schools in Texas for 2025, which includes being the #2 Best Public High School and #18 Best College Prep Public High School in the state—an incredible accomplishment out of many schools across Texas. You and your student will hear and see why Kerr continues to be one of the most successful band program in the region.

This year’s concert will be extra special! Students and families will enjoy music from superheroes and movies, and since it’s October, it will be a Halloween Concert. There will also be other surprises and fun that you’ll have to come see for yourself!

Concert Information:

When: Tuesday, October 27th – WE WILL BUS TO & FROM KERR HS - PICK UP FROM ALBRIGHT BY 9PM
Where: Kerr HS Theater
Admission: FREE! Invite your family and friends!
Transportation: Students will be transported from their middle school to Kerr. Parents/guardians must pick up their child from Kerr HS after the performance (approx. 8:00–8:30 PM).
What to Wear: School t-shirt or band shirt with jeans or uniform pants
What to Bring: Instrument & music.
Food: Pizza will be provided before the concert for all participating students.
We are so excited to share our music with you and to welcome future Kerr Band members into our family. Please come and enjoy this special evening—it will be an unforgettable experience!

Concert Black

All members of the Albright Warrior Band need to have CONCERT BLACK dress clothes for all concert performances for Albright. Concert black is also a requirement for high school band so you are investing in your child now and their future. Please reach our with any questions about concert black requirements.

Reeds

Woodwind players may purchase reeds though the school. These are 1 in quantity. To get the best deal you should order this same brand through Sweetwater music store online. Vandoren is the best brand for clarinet and saxophone reeds and Singin' Dog is the best brand for oboe and bassoon reeds. Please reach out to the band directors if you have questions.
