The Albright Warrior Band is excited to present their Winter Band Concert on Tuesday, December 16th where they will be playing music featuring both new and classic sounds of the winter season. Be sure to come support your Albright Warrior Band as they bring us sounds of holiday cheer before winter break. Intermediate Woodwinds and Intermediate Brass will perform starting at 6pm then Concert Band and Symphonic Band will perform starting at 6:30pm.  

All band members in Intermediate Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Percussion will be performing on Tuesday, December 16th. 

All students will stay after school on Tuesday December 16th. They will not go home before the concert. 

Students will wear their green band shirt with jeans. If student does not have a band shirt they will wear a green Albright shirt with jeans. 

Intermediate Woodwinds & Intermediate Brass will perform starting at 6:00pm. 

Concert Band & Symphonic Band will perform starting at 6:30pm. 

On December 12th and 13th Albright all-district band members will be participating in the clinic and concert with the other middle school students that advanced. If your child made the band then they are expected and required to be there for all of Friday’s after school rehearsal and all of Saturday’s rehearsal and concert. All of the rehearsals and the concert will be located at Taylor High School. 

Friday - wear school uniform or band shirt with uniform pants. 

Saturday morning - wear free dress but bring black shoes and black socks. We will change into our all black tuxedos after lunch. 

STUDENTS WILL NEED TO WEAR A NICE PAIR OF ALL BLACK DRESS SHOES and black socks with their tuxedos. They will need these black shoes for our band competitions/ performances next semester as well. Any other color shoes will look silly and not professional with the tuxedos. 

Students will be provided dinner on Friday, December 12th and provided lunch on Saturday, December 13th. 

• Schedule for Friday:

• 4:00 pm – Students come to the cafeteria & eat dinner (provided by the school) 

• 4:30 pm –  Leave for Taylor HS on bus

• 9:00 pm – Get picked up from Taylor HS - front of the school

• Schedule for Saturday:

• 7:30 am – Arrive at Taylor HS Theatre -  front of the school

• 11:30 am – Lunch (provided) 

• 2:00 pm – Concert at Taylor HS Theatre (back of school past the tennis courts)

• 4:00 pm - Estimated end of concert 

Parents/Guardians are invited to attend the concert. Students will be transported to Taylor on Friday evening only! All other transportation will be provided by parents/guardians. Taylor HS Theatre is past the tennis courts right before the athletic building in the back of the school. 

On December 17th and 18th Select Albright symphonic band members will be participating in a public presentation to the community and Board of Alief ISD. All symphonic band members selected are Expected and Required to attend the one rehearsal and concert on the 17th and 18th. The rehearsal and concert will be located at Taylor High School. 

Uniform for the Showcase on the 18th will be Sunday Best. Students may bring their Sunday Best to change into on Thursday or may attend school wearing their Sunday Best if that is easier. If there are any questions about the uniform please contact Mr. Johnston. 

• No jeans - no t-shirts - no words on dress shirt 

• No tennis shoes - no flip flops - no slides - no crocs 

• No shorts 

• No rips in pants 

• No spaghetti straps

• No tank tops

• No stomach showing

• Shorts or skirts cannot be shorter than 3" above the knee & wear shorts underneath so nothing is exposed 

• Wearing leggings with dress or skirt is recommended since the stage is higher than the audience eye level

• 1:00 pm – Students come to the Band Hall & gather supplies

• 1:15 pm- Leave for Taylor HS on bus

• 5:00 pm –  Leave for Albright MS on bus

• 5:30 pm – Get picked up from Albright MS - front of the school

Schedule for Thursday:

• 4:00 pm – Students come to the Band Hall & gather supplies and Change if needed

• 4:20 pm –Leave for Taylor HS on bus

• 7:00 pm- Concert Starts

• 8:00 pm- Leave for Taylor HS on bus

• 8:15 pm – Get picked up from Albright MS - front of the school

Parents/Guardians are invited to attend the concert. Students will be transported to Taylor on both days and will need to be picked up at Albright MS. Taylor HS Theatre is past the tennis courts right before the athletic building in the back of the school.
