On Friday, March 6th SELECT MEMBERS of the Albright Warrior Symphonic Band will be participating in the annual Alief ISD 7th Grade Draw Event. We will travel to the CTE building in Alief and perform selections from our UIL band pieces for the event. Students do not have to be current 7th graders to participate. There will be bands from all 6 middle schools and 3 of the high schools. The bands from each school will play selections of music as well. It’s like a big pep rally for the high school draw.
Students are required to wear jeans or dark blue uniform pants with their GREEN BAND SHIRT. If students do not have the band shirt they will not be permitted to attend the event to represent Albright.
8:00am - Come to the band room dressed in Jeans/ Dark Blue pants and GREEN ALBRIGHT BAND SHIRT

All concert band and symphonic band students will stay after school on Tuesday, March 17th for their Pre-UIL Band Concert. Parents are welcome to join us at 6:30pm in the Albright Cafeteria for this send off concert as we wish our top two bands BEST OF LUCK at UIL. Students MUST wear their CONCERT BLACK including black dress shoes and long black socks. This is worth two major grades for performing.
On March 19th (concert band) & 20th (symphonic band) members of the Albright Warrior Band will be participating in the annual Region 23 UIL concert and sight-reading competition at Waltrip HS. UIL is a contest designed to increase musical skill and be judged on the overall hard work and preparation of the students.
Students are required to wear: long black pants, long black socks, black closed toe dress shoes, and an all black button down shirt or a black blouse for females . Females may wear a knee length black (or longer) dress / skirt with black tights or black leggings (required so there’s no issue with visibility on stage of undergarments). Thursday, March 19th Concert Band:
10:52am - Come to the band room beginning of 3rd period DRESSED IN CONCERT BLACK (you won’t have time to change in to concert black before we leave school)
11:41am - Lunch at Albright
12:15pm - Load busses & box truck
12:30pm - Leave by bus to Waltrip HS
1:30pm - Arrive at Waltrip HS
2:05pm - Enter warm-up room
2:45pm - Perform the Concert portion of the contest in the auditorium of Waltrip HS
3:00pm - Sight Reading portion of the contest in the band room
3:15pm - Approximate end of Contest
3:30pm - Travel to Chick-fil-A - Bring at least $12 - $15 or more depending on what you want to eat.
6:30pm - Approximate arrival back at Albright.
Friday, March 20th Symphonic Band:

All members of the Albright Warrior Band need to have CONCERT BLACK dress clothes for all performances for ALbright. Concert black is also a requirement for high school band so you are investing your child now and their future. Please reach our with any questions about concert black requirements.
