Summer 2026 (Week of June 8th - July 26)
Maximum Class Size: 15
Duration: 1-hour weekly sessions; 8 weeks total
This course will focus on how we can become more effective learners. We will do so by first evaluating students’ approach to learning, including learning strategies and daily habit. By utilizing empirically supported approaches to better learning, we will work to adjust and improve student learning outcomes. The goal will be to develop a better understanding of the way human minds operate, and to use that insight into our own approach to learning. Students should leave the class as better independent learners, more effective in their use of time and energy, and producing better measurable outcomes.
Recommended for: students who want to become independent learners (as expected at college-level and beyond); students who put in effort to learning that is not translating to better outcomes; students who struggle with learning in any way; preferably 9th-12th grade
Deadline for Enrollment: June 1st

Duration: 1-hour weekly sessions; 8 weeks total
This course will prepare students for standardized testing by developing a deeper understanding of how these exams are designed, and what that means for our approach to preparing for and taking them. Though the course will focus on SAT and ACT exams, the core of this course applies to all major standardized exams, including AP exams, LSAT, MCAT, and GRE. The goal is to give students the proper tools to learn and prepare independently for these exams, tools that have demonstrated to produce results. This course is aimed at replacing all specific test preparation courses, since students who understand how to effectively prepare for standardized exams will be able to study independently without direct guidance.
Recommended for: students applying for college and/or planning to pursue advanced degrees, all of which require or encourage taking standardized exams; preferably 10th-12th grade
Deadline for Enrollment: June 1st
