A narrative-driven card game for mobile where you'll play to save your summer.
This project was developed by an indie team I was member of, in the first place, as a game for GGJ24 that was further developed to port it from PC to mobile, enhance its art and improve its narrative.
My Work role
In this game I worked as Narrative Designer through all its development, being responsible for:
World building and level design.
Narrative design and writing.
Narrative systems design.
Support in combat balance for all different narrative paths.
My Work Highlights
I am responsible for the entire narrative of our game, which is experienced through swipe actions in a Tinder-style interface. In addition to crafting the story, I designed the graph system that structures and implements the narrative within the project.
The story of the game structures and directly affects other team mates to develop their task so as to avoid blocking other mates I focused from the beginning on working on the documentation of the graphs that build the story. Developing a series of flowcharts and docs.
This game originated as a Global Game Jam 2024 (GGJ24) project. Since its initial development, the game has undergone two crucial changes: first, we decided to port it to mobile, and second, we completely redesigned the combat system. These changes directly impacted the narrative, which I rewrote from scratch three times to adapt and enhance the game's evolving mechanics and media. This experience has been particularly significant for me, as this is my first experience in the role of narrative designer. Each change presented a substantial challenge, and I am proud of how I navigated them
