With this in mind, he distribute blank letters and asks his neighbours to write a letter before the service is definitely over, but ¿why would anyone write a letter nowadays?

An old man has died in an hospital. His body is no more, but not his soul. He awakes as a spirit in the Ueno park, a place he used to visit when he was alive.
Mr. Kohei meets, suddenly, a man who looks exactly like him. This stranger shows itself as God. Not 'a' God, but 'the' God. The deity explains Mr. Kohei that, as he has not been good nor bad, it does not know where to send his soul to.
God challenges Mr. Kohei to do its job for a while to figure out what his destiny shall be.
