The Albert J. Myer Signal Excellence Medal is unique to the AJM Chapter and recognizes Signaleers and Friends-of-Signal across the DMV (DC, Maryland and Virginia) who excel in the profession.
There is no greater recognition for members of the Signal Regiment and its dedicated civilian teammates than the AJM SCRA Excellence in Signal Medal. This prestigious honor is awarded to individuals who embody the highest standards of integrity, moral character, professional competence, and selfless service. Each recipient has made a lasting impact on the Signal Corps and has contributed meaningfully to the mission and spirit of the Signal Corps Regimental Association.
The medal itself is a striking, numbered crystal medallion, emblazoned with the AJM SCRA logo and set on a satin red, white, and blue ribbon, reflecting both the National Capital Region and the enduring commitment of Signaleers and Friends of Signal who serve faithfully across the DMV.
Nomination Rules and Submission Guidelines:
The recommender and nominee must be current member of the SCRA in good standing. If nominee is an AJM SCRA member, they will be afforded additional weight to thier nomination by the Reviewing Authority. Join, renew, or upgrade your membership at: https://www.signalcorps.org ==> Membership ==> Select Albert J. Myer for your chapter affiliation.
Submit a double-spaced, two-page (maximum) narrative highlighting the nominee’s contributions to: 1) the Signal Corps, 2) their organization/unit, and 3) the mission of the Albert J. Myer Chapter, SCRA.

At the top of your submission, include the full name, rank, email, phone number, mailing address, and SCRA membership number for both the recommender and nominee.
In the body of your email, include the desired date and location of the award presentation, and note if you would like a member of the AJM SCRA Board of Directors to present the medal.
You will receive a response within 5 days of submission with notification of approval and further instructions for payment and delivery.

The Signal Corps Regimental Association (SCRA) Awards Program’s purpose is to honor SCRA members, supporters, and volunteers who, through their service and active participation in the Association, have demonstrated meaningful support to the SCRA and the Signal Regiment.Â
The National SCRA Board of Directors has designated a National Awards Chair (Mark Powell) who oversees the National Awards Committee as the approving authority for all awards and charged it with the responsibility of maintaining the integrity of the awards program. The National Awards Committee has delegated limited approval authority to Colonels of the Regiment and Chapter Officers in some cases. The National Awards Chair retains final approval authority in all cases.Â
Signal Corps Regimental Association Members are eligible for:
Mercury Medal of Achievement (MMA)
Bronze Order of Mercury (BOM)
Silver Order of Mercury (SOM)
Gold Order of Mercury (GOM)
Mmilitary Members of Service who are NOT US Army Signal Regimental members are eligible for:
Brevet Colonel Award
Non-Military Individuals who have voluntarily contributed in a significant service to the improvement of the Signal Corps Regimental Association and the Signal Regimental community are eligible for:
Bronze Wahatchee
Silver Wahatchee
The SCRA Mercury Medal for Achievement is awarded to recognize individuals who contribute, through their achievements, to the overall improvement, readiness, and capabilities of the Signal Corps Regimental Association, thereby improving the US Army Signal Regiment.
