The Mayors City credit card was only used for city business matters. Primarily, business lunches and dinners. The Mayor cannot accept gifts from developers or businesses, to ensure no perception of bias. 

The Mayors City credit card was only used for city business matters.  It is easier to have one card pay for the staff, councilor working meals, the Mayor used his card when required. Falsely, Minister McIver has said all Councilors have credit cards, they do not, only the Mayor has a City credit card, of the council.

When the staff and council have working lunches or staff and council working dinners food is paid for by the City, through the Mayors credit card. Additionally, when council would go to conventions, committee  and caucus meetings for council, & cao's, lunches and dinners and including hotel rooms, are paid for by the City, paid using the Mayor's credit card. The Mayor and council that worked through lunch and dinner were provided meals. The Mayor would work through lunch and dinner most days with councilors or having business meetings at those times and throughout the day.   

When the Mayor, councilor and City Director are having business meetings, the Mayor pays for the meal so that developers or business people don't pay, so there is no perception of giving the Mayor ,Cao's and Councilors gifts.

Many additional meetings were needed due to the significant additional workload  because of the improper inspection and Minister McIver issued. Which, we fully expect to go after the province for all the additional workload, staff time and City expense Minister mciver has caused. While our councilor pay is very low, our value of our time to the City is significantly higher and Minister McIver, has taken and wasted this value of our time that would have benefit the community, and we will be seeking the recovery of that for the City.

And AGAIN, Minister McIver misleads the public. The Mayor did not buy two motorcycles on the City Visa card for himself for over $75,000 and are in his garage.

The truth,

• The Mayor's Visa has a limit of $5,000 not $75,000. 

• Staff had numerous presentations to Council, by our head of Chestermere Peace Officers and by our City Director (CAO) of Operations. Council passed a motion to buy two, on road / off road motorbikes for a new patrol initiative to invest in to deterring crime, on roads, pathways and parks  in Chestermere.

• The Motorbikes cost approx. $19,000 each. Officers were provided safety equipment and enhanced mandatory rider training for approx. $6,000.

• The City of Chestermere bought and paid for the two motorcycles. 

• The motorcycles are stored at public works.

• The Mayor has never driven the City's motorcycles or stored the motorcycles at his home.
