親愛的家長、同學們好！

十二月象徵著冬季和聖誕節的到來。我們的聖誕慶祝活動將於 12 月 20 日在學校體育館舉行，形式為才藝表演。我們誠摯邀請學生與家長展現才藝，包括唱歌、跳舞、武術、相聲等多元表演，個人或組合都歡迎。如果您或您的孩子有興趣加入節目，請告知班主任，我們會納入活動流程。

回顧十一月，我們邀請了退役的陸軍中校 Lyle Herod 先生擔任國殤日紀念活動的嘉賓講者，同時亦安排高年級的同學們與這位退伍軍人進行了十分有意義的交流。Herod 先生事後也寫道：「你們的高年級學生提出了深思熟慮的問題，而你們的集會既莊重又充滿真情。」在此感謝 Herman 老師、Ken，以及所有協助布置的家長和同學，使活動得以順利完成。與大家分享一些當日活動的照片。

另外，我想分享一項來自亞省教育廳的十一月資訊：11 月 17日至 21 日為亞省的「國際教育週」。亞省教育廳同步宣布了「放眼世界：全球點心挑戰賽」，邀請全省從幼稚園到十二年級的學生分享與食物或點心相關的故事，以促進跨文化交流。學生可提交藝術作品或文字創作。如果您的孩子有興趣參加，請瀏覽 Global Snack Challenge 查詢更多資訊。雖然「國際教育週」已結束，但作品提交截止日為 2026 年 1 月 16 日。有創作才能的同學切勿錯過這個展現自我的好機會。

12 月 27 日和 1 月 3 日是寒假。展望一月，上學期的期末考試將在 1 月 17 日，而歌唱比賽則是 1 月 31 日。

近期的極地渦旋為我們帶來大雪與低溫，祈盼此類天氣不會太過頻繁。請大家注意保暖，順祝平安。

Dear ACWS Families,

Warm greetings! 

December means winter and the Christmas season. Our Christmas celebration will take place on December 20 in the school gym, featuring a variety show format. We invite students and parents to display their talents, whether singing, dancing, martial arts, stand up comedy, or anything else. Acts can be individual or group. If you or your child would like to put in something for the celebration, please tell your teachers, and we will include your performance in the program.

Looking back on November, we invited retired Lieutenant-Colonel, Mr. Lyle Herod as a guest speaker at our Remembrance Day event. The students had a meaningful encounter with the veteran. Mr. Herod later wrote: “Your senior students asked thoughtful questions and your assembly was both dignified and presented with heart.” Thanks to Mr. Herman, Ken, and all the parents and students who helped with the set up and contributed to the success of the event. I would also like to pass along this information from Alberta Education: International Education Week was officially recognized across Alberta from November 17–21. During this time, Alberta Education announced the Think Globally Contest: Global Snack Challenge, inviting students in Alberta from Kindergarten to Grade 12 to share stories about food and snacks as a way to build cultural connections. Students may submit artwork and/or written compositions for the contest. Please visit Global Snack Challenge to find out more if your child is interested in participating. Although the International Education Week has ended, the submission deadline is January 16, 2026. We encourage students to take this opportunity to showcase their talent and creativity.

December 27 and January 3 will be our holiday break. Looking ahead to January, the first semester final exam is scheduled for January 17, and our singing contest will take place on January 31.

The recent polar vortex brought us heavy snow and cold temperatures. Hopefully we will not be seeing too much more of that.
