Dwayne began racing a chariot in 1981 and although he loved the sport, chose to take a break in 1994 and return in 2020. In 2023, Dwayne made the jump to a wagon and won Rookie of the Year with the All Pro club. In the off sesaon, Dwayne takes pride in driving fuel tankers across western Canada and in the NWT and the Yukon. Dwayne is proud to be a husband, a father of four, and a grandpa to 4 beautiful grandchildren.
Phil Arcand
Alexander First Nations, AB
Phil Arcand is a 3rd generation driver following after his father Rubin. He began racing in 2006 and later began racing a chuckwagon in 2010. In 2010 he took home Rookie Wagon Driver and continues to do well, often placing in the top 10 as well as winning day money. He enjoys travelling with his family and racing against his father when the opportunity arises.
Rubin Arcand

Rubin Started racing in 1978 at the age of 16. In 1979 Rubin raced both carts and wagons up until 1993 where he left the racing scene to raise his family and start a career. In 2016 he came out of retirement to race wagons with his son, Phil. Rubin looks forward to a great racing season.
Keyton Beaubien
Meadow Lake, SK
Keyton is a 3rd generation driver who started racing chariots in 2010 with the NWSPCCA. He won Rookie Chariot Driver of the year in 2010 within the NWSPCCA before making the jump to a wagon in 2017. Keyton also won Rookie Wagon Driver of the year in 2017 for the same club. His two most cherished titles are high point Chariot Champion in 2012 and 2013. Keyton now primarlily runs with the APCCA and enjoys his time around the Albertan tracks. He looks forward to another awesome year of racing.
Greg Bell
Camrose, AB
Greg Bell is a 1st generation chariot driver who grew up in Wetaskiwin and settled with his family in Camrose. With a need for speed, Greg went from a dealership owner with a love for automotive horse power to finding a passion for equine horse power. Greg and his family started following the APCCA in 2012 and then traded cheering for lines in 2019. In 2016, Greg's wife Lorraine, daughter Kendra, and son Cody were awarded the Family of the Year alongside the Maupin family in 2016. In 2018, Greg was awarded Volunteer of the Year and was then awarded the Greg Smith Memorial buckle in 2021. Greg took home the Viking chariot championship in 2022 and placed 5th overall in his first full season. He cherishes his chuckwagon and chariot family and looks forward to many more seasons to come.
Allan Bengtson
Bluffton, AB
Allan Bengtson began his racing career in 2010 winning Rookie of the Year in the Chariots and Chuckwagons. In 2014 he placed 4th in the Chariots and in 2016 he placed 3rd in the Chuckwagons and 4th in 2023. He has also won the Greg Smith Memorial Award for Most Sportsmanlike Driver which was an honor to recieve. His horses are no strangers to the winning circle receiving left wheel, horse of the year, left lead horse of the year on the Chuckwagon and left Chariot Horse of the Year. in 2024 Allan took home the Wagon Championship. Allan likes to sport his pink and lime green wagon and occasionally takes home the Best Dressed award. Allan along with his wife Samantha and daughters Kendyl and Jayd have also received The Family Of The Year Award in 2019. In the off season you will find Allan feeding cows planning his next racing season.
Samantha Bengtson
Bluffton, AB
Sam started her racing career in 2011 winning Rookie Chariot of the year in the Central Club and Border Club. She continued her career winning Best Dressed Chariot, Lucky 13 in 2017 and 4th place in 2022. Sam has also received the Dedicated Driver Award and the Greg Smith Memorial Award for most Sportsmanlike Driver. Sam, her husband Allan and her daughters Kendyl and Jayd have also received Family of the Year Award in 2019. In the off season you will find Sam spending most of her time with her girls riding horses.
Vegreville, AB
Charlie grew up in Northern Alberta watching the local Chuckwagon araces at the Manning Rodeo. Little did he know he would move to Vegreville in 2022 and in 2024 be asked to help out a friend of a friend and was introduced to chuckwagon and chariot racing first hand. At the age of 15, Charlie joined Dwayne Dubuc and his 3D Chuckwagon and Chariot Racing team and would be entering his rookie Chariot racing year with a barn full of champions. Charlie is very active and enjoy playing U18 hockey in the winter, baseball in the spring and has his first 4H steer. Charlies charm, charisma, and character make him a welcome addition to any team and the perfect representative of his sponsors.

Jayda BigCharles was born April 2007 and currently lives in Blackfalds. Jayda is a 3rd generation driver and started her wagon career driving mini wagons when she was 6 years old. In the off season, Jayda likes to participate in gymkhanas, as well as riding, and breaking saddle horses. Jayda is very excited for her rookie season in the chariots this 2025 season.

Cassie started racing in 2005 at the age of 15 following in the footsteps of her father Dan and brother Jim. She won the Central Club Rookie of the year in 2005. In 2011 she won the first of three back to back Chariot championships in Buck Lake. In 2012 and 2013 Cassie won the APCCA Chariot Championship.
Archerwill, Sk
Riley started his racing career in a chariot in 2005 and moved to a wagon in 2009. He has competed all over Saskatchewa, Alberta, and Manitoba. Riley is proud to hold the Red Deer Championship for the 2023 and 2024 race season.
Shane Cartier
Mannville, AB
Shane Cartier started racing chuckwagons in 1986 at the age of 16 alongside his father and four brothers for 18 years before moving to the WPCA for a period of time. In 2012, Shane came back to the APCCA where he once again served on the executive as a President, Director, and has worked on multiple committees. Shane won the 2004 Ken Borek Memorial most sportsmanlike driver award and then went on to win Calgary Stampedes Orville Strandquist Award for top Rookie Driver in 2007. In 2022 Shane won the APCCA Volunteer of the Year award. Shane was honoured to win the Greg Smith Memorial Buckle for sportsmanship in the 2024 race season. Levi Cretney

My name is Levi Cretney and alongside my fiance Ashley, two step children-Braiden and Tori, as well as my son Virgil, you can find us raising cattle and horses on our family farm. We pride ourselves on being parents and showing our children the western lifestyle. I started driving a cart in 2022 and in 2023 my lifelong dream of becoming a chuckwagon driver came true and I started the journey of training horses much like my grandfather Don VanEaton did. In 2022 I was invited to run alongside veterans of the APCCA in Red Deer where rookies are not often invited. At the end of the 2022 race season I placed 28th out of 67 drivers. At the end of the 2023 race season I was awarded the Rookie Wagon Driver of the Year. I look forward to another successful race season.
Brett Dubuc
Fort Saskatchewan, AB
Brett Dubuc grew up with the love of chariot and chuckwagon racing, gaining this love from his father Dave and grandfather Dennis. Brett enjoys the family aspect of the sport and gives thanks to his mom, sister, and wife who cheer him on. Brett started racing a chariot at 15 and made the jump to a wagon box at 18. Brett won two shows with his wagon in 2019 and ended up with the 2nd place wagon buckle for the 2019 season. Brett is often seen around the race track giving a helping hand to fellow competitors as well as encouraging a night of fun. in 2024 Brett was able to take home the Chariot Championship with Darren Twerdochlibs team. Brett looks forward to another season of fantastic races.
Dave Dubuc
Fort Saskatchewan, AB
Dave started racing more than 25 years ago and has truely made chuckwagons and chariots a beloved family sport. Davids wife Rachel and their three kids all contirbute to the APCCA in some way whether that be racing, helping harness and feed, timing, or cheering the drivers on from the side lines. Dave is always proud to see his sons race and looks forward to the future of Dubuc racing. In 2023 Dave won Most Sportsmanlike Driver. He has spent many years on the executive team and at one point held the President position. The Dubuc camp looks forward to another great year of racing.
Dwayne Dubuc

Over the past 30+ years, Dwayne has competed in over 770 successful races at more than 265 rodeos, fairs, and other racing events. Over this time he has been fortunate enough to have driven both chuckwagons and chariots to show championships and consistenly places top 10. Dwaynes horse Billi won the 2012 and 2014 right pole horse Cartiers Neck Yoke Bunch awards. Following close after, Rebel, a left chariot horse won the Cartier's Neck Yoke Bunch award in 2016 and in 2018 won the left lead horse award. Dwayne is currently serving as the President for the APCCA and actively promotes the association and the sport of racing both locally and internationally. In 2017, Dwayne's passion for racing was rewarded as he was rewarded the Volunteer of the Year and Dedicated Driver of the year award. In 2018 Dwayne was the winner of the chuckwagon tour championship.

Freddy grew up with the love for horse but truly enhance his horsemanship at age 5 running in local gymkhana's. He began racing a chariot in 1999 and later switched to a wagon in 2009. Freddy prides himself on having many of his horses home raised but enjoys buying colts from other long standing members of the APCCA. Freddy is a loyal member of the oil field and has built his trucking business from the wagon box. In 2023, Freddy injured and devestating injury but has worked hard to come back stronger than ever, taking over every track he can.
Bill Govenlock
Sherwood Park, AB
Bill has always loved horses and his passion soon turned to travelling to wagon races with his family in Saskatchewan. In 1981 he started driving a chariot and in the following year, he hopped into a wagon box. Bill raced up until 1987 and made a return in 1989 after moving to Alberta. His love for the sport has never weakened and after several years off, he returned in 2004 where he drove chariots for others. In 2008 he bought 4 horses and started up again. Bill has since worked as an associate director, director, and has been involved on different committees. Bill is noted for his awards such as the Greg Smith Memorial Sportsmanlike Driver, Jim Becker Penalty Free Driver, The Mark Harris Hard Luck Memorual Awards, as well as a couple of top 5 year end finishes. In 2019, his grandson Wyatt began driving mini wagons and a year later his other grandson Hudson. In 2022 His daughter Deanna, and grandson Wyatt began driving chariots and his grandaughter Makayla started driving the minis. He looks forward to the day were he can drive in a heat alongside them all.
Deanna Govenlock
Edmonton, AB
Horse racing has always been a part of Deanna’s life. She is a third generation driver who grew up cheering on her Grandpa Blair and her Dad Bill. At first she just helped out with the horses and then started timing as well. In 2022 with a “gentle” push from her dad she decided she would start driving a cart! It was a special year because her oldest son Wyatt graduated from driving his mini wagon to start driving as a rookie cart driver. Deanna’s younger son Hudson also drove a mini wagon. They love being able to travel down the road together from show to show as a family including her niece Makayla who joins them from Saskatchewan to drive the minis as well. Some highlights of Deanna’s racing are winning Safe Chariot Driver in 2024 and also a 3 generation race against her Dad Bill and Son Wyatt while having her other son Hudson hold for her. Wyatt Donnelly
Edmonton, AB
Wild Wyatt Donnelly is a 4th generation driver. Some of his earliest memories are travelling around and watching his Grandpa Bill and Great Grandpa Blair race chuckwagons all over the prairies. In 2019 he started driving mini chuckwagons and travelling with his grandpa from show to show. Wyatt’s favourite part about racing mini chuckwagons was getting to race against his younger brother Hudson. The fun didn’t stop there, in 2022 his mom Deanna started to race a chariot and Wyatt too in the second half of the season when he turned 14. In the first half of the season Wyatt got to drive minis with his brother Hudson and cousin Makayla. Just when he though his year couldn’t get any better, he got to race against his mom in the last show of the year in Millarville. In 2024, he got to race against his mom and grandpa all in the same heat in Millarville the same place him and his mom went head to head for the first time two years earlier. In 2024 he won most improved chariot driver and tough luck chariot driver. Wyatt would love to travel back to Saskatchewan and race there where his grandpa and great grandpa started over 40 years ago.
His favourite thing about chuckwagon racing is the family that you build with other people on and off the race track.
Gracie Hill
Wizard Lake, AB
Gracie Hill began racing in 2024 winning Chariot Rookie driver. Her step-father Jim O'Connor introduced her to the sport, along with her Auntie Cassie. Gracie loves horses through and through. She looks forward to another season of learning from fellow drivers and of course improving her abilities in the cart.
Martina Hubl
Eckville, AB
Martina Hubl is a 3rd generation driver taking after her parents Marvin and Linda, as well as her Shippelt family. Starting in 2011, she raced miniture horses in the Stars of Tomorrow Program alongside her brother Zach. In 2016 she raced her rookie cart year, and then in 2019, won the North American Championship with her cart in Red Deer. In 2022 she won Rookie Wagon Driver of the Year. Martina lives in Eckville area and has a Bachelor of Communication degree from MacEwan University.
Marvin Hubl
Eckville, AB
Marvin was born and raised in the Eckville area and got into the racing business after meeting Linda. He raced a chariot for 5 years just to learn how to drive, and jumped into a wagon in 1989 and has been there ever since. There have been many highlights throughout Marvin's race history such as winning buckles, trophies, prints, coats, and trophy-skinning knives. Marvin has been a solid contender, usually placing anywhere in the top 5. Wins at Red Deer, Ponoka, and TeePee Creek are the highlighs of his career so far, because either you make dust or you eat it.
Zach Hubl
Eckville, AB
Zach is a 3rd generation driver taking after his parents Marvin and Linda, and his shippelt family. In 2011, he raced miniture horses in the Stars of Tomorrow program alongside his sister Martina. In 2017 he started racing his cart, and won Rookie Chariot Driver of the Year. Zach currently lives in the Eckville area and is attending school for his Bachelors in Mining Engineering.
Linda Shippelt-Hubl
Eckville, AB
Linda is truly from a chuckwagon family, her father Willie Shippelt was a well known driver, and along with her uncles Mike Shippelt and Tom Gilks and 14 cousins. Linda spent many of her childhood summers enjoying the racing circuit. She started racing carts in 1974, and moved up to wagons in 1990. At most every show in the summer you will find Linda along with her husband Marvin Hubl and their children setting up camp and getting ready to run. Through Linda, the Shippelt name remains in the racing circle.
Tracey Klatt (Klatty)
Donalda, AB
In 2021, Klatty began racing carts and soon fell back inlove with the sport he grew up in. In that same year, Klatty and his wife, Kim, won Family of the Year, voted upon by fellow members of the club. 2024 became the year that Klatty looked most forward to as he began racing a wagon and secured the Rookie Wagon buckle. Klatty is known for his good looking outfit and takes pride in ensuring his harness is clean and presentable to cheering crowds. In 2024, Klatty was awarded Best Dressed Wagon and took pride in keeping his wagon outfit looking sharp!
Dallas Langevine
San Clara, MB
Dallas began racing in 1999 with the MPCCA club in Manitoba. In the time he acted as a Vice President as well as a show director. In 2010, Dalla began running with the WCA club racing big wagons. After 3 years with the club, he made the decision to move to the CPCA and in 2016 secured the clean driver award at Colonial Days in Lloydminster. During this time, Dallas filled in as a driver for Jaime Laboucans non-point wagon outfit. Dallas is greatful for all of the amazing drivers from wagons, big or small, to chariot drivers who have taught him a thing or two. Dallas thrives on the motto "If you don't put in the time, you wont get the results" and a few laughs and jokes in between never hurt.

Ben Lang is a fourth generation driver following in his great grandpa Garnet Lyle, Grandpa Darryl Johnston and dad Brent Lang racing careers. He started racing miniature horses in the Stars of Tomorrow program in 2012. 2021 was his rookie cart year and will step into the box of a wagon for the 2025 race season.
Brent Lang

Brent Lang began racing chariots in 1993 and chuckwagons in 2000. Chariots and Chuckwagon racing is truly a family sport for the Lang’s with Brent’s twin boys, Ben and Porter racing chariots and his other four children being involved in many aspects of the sport and having travelled down many highways cheering Brent on. Brents wife Tammy grew up in a racing family and they now enjoy this sport with their grandchildren. Brent has enjoyed many top 5 finishes over the years and is very appreciative of all the sponsors that get them down the road and doing what they love.

Jim Lang began racing in 1989 when invited to travel around, race to race, with his father-in-law Butch Sannachan. Jim ran a chariot for one year later jumping into a wagon. Jim enjoys driving a team of matching bays and prides himself on a clean looking outfit. Although racing is a thrill, Jim is thankful for the friends that have turned into family back at race camp and enjoys all of the friendships he has made over the years. Jim has had many accomplishments over the years and appreciated all of the sponsors that have helped Jim travel down the road.

Porter Lang is a fourth generation driver following in his great grandpa Garnet Lyle, Grandpa Darryl Johnston and dad Brent Lang racing careers. He started racing miniature horses in the Stars of Tomorrow program in 2012. 2021 was his rookie cart year. In 2024, Porter will step into the box of a wagon as a Rookie driver.

Cody Leach is a third generation driver, following in his dad, Bob Leach's footsteps. Cody started racing chariots in 2007 and moved up to a chuckwagon in 2009. Cody was raised around horses and works as a part time ferrier. He now reisdes in Weekes, Saskatchewan with his wife Heidi and their three children.
Heidi Leach
Weekes, SK
Heidi Leach comes from a long line of chuckwagon and chariot drivers. She mainly follows in the footsteps of her father, Neil Salmond. She began racing chariots in 2010 and later met her now husband Cody Leach on the track. She now resides in Weekes, Saskatchewan with her husband and four children.
Bob Leach
Tofield, AB
Bob Leach began racing in 1978 at the age of 15. He's a second generation driver, following in his dad's footsteps. Bob won many titles in Saskatchewan where he grew up. After travelling to race in Alberta for many years, he then made the move to Tofield, Alberta alongside Cheryl in 2022. He raced his chuckwagan at the Ponoka Stampede for five years and brought home four championships. In 2023, Bob challenged himself to win both the chuckwagon and chariot championships and succeeded. In 2024, Bob took home both the 2nd place Chariot and 3rd place Chuckwagon buckle. He looks forward to another successful year of racing.
Todd Maupin
Rocky Mountain House, AB
In 2011, Todd Maupin joined the chuckwagon world through sponsorship at the Rocky Mountain House races. After becoming more involved with the APCCA, Todd hooked a chariot in 2015. In 2016 the Maupin's were awarded the family of the year alongside the Bell family. Todd then began driving a wagon in 2017 and won Rookie Wagon Driver of the year. The two most valued awards Todd has recieved are the Most Sportsmanlike Driver in 2018 and the Greg Smith Memorial buckle in 2019. Rob Nordick
Ardrossan, AB
Rob grew up in Watson, Sask. and has been around chuckwagon racing all of his life. He started racing a chariot in 1999, at the age of 16. When the time was right in 2007 he decided to start his own chuckwagon outfit, racing all over Alberta and Sask. In his first year he won Rookie Wagon Driver of the Year and has been improving his team every year since. In 2012, his horse Roy won left pole horse of the year and in 2014 and 2018 his horse Edgar was also named left pole horse of the year. In 2023, Rob placed 3rd overall for the season. He placed top 4 for most of the season and walked away with 3 show championships. In 2024, Rob walked away with 2nd place for the season including winning 4 show championships.
Rob, his wife Kaila, and their kids Bentley and Brinley love the sport of chuckwagon racing and their equine athletes. In 2022, their kids decided to join in the fun and began driving mini chuckwagons. It truly is a family sport and Nordick racing would love to thank their sponsors who have supported them through the years and have become more like family. Miles McNarland

Miles is a dedicated 2nd generation chuckwagon driver who actively traverses Canadian provinces to bring excellent race meets to the fair board who host him. Miles travels alongside his wife, Shauna and son Gibson, who chose to debut his rookie year in 2021. Miles has served as a vice president as well as president for the Manitoba club and has been the 3 time high point chariot driver. In 2005 Miles was awarded the Manitoba Stampede Chuckwagon Championship. Miles looks forward to attending more APCCA race meets and showcasing his Manitoba horse power.
Wizard Lake, AB
Breanna O’Connor is a 3rd generation driver following her grandpa Dan O’Connor and dad Jim O’Connor. She started racing in 2018 and at the age of 14, she won Rookie of the Year. In 2019, she won the Clean Driver award, followed by a third-place finish overall in the APCCA in
2021, and a second-place finish overall in the APCCA in 2023. In 2024, Breanna secured the 3rd place overall finish in the chariots. In the off-season, Breanna plays college basketball at Medicine Hat College while also studying to complete her Bachelor of Education degree.
Jim O'Connor
Wizard Lake, AB
Jim O’Connor, a second-generation driver who began racing in 1990, is always a crowd favorite! When he’s not being seen on YouTube jumping into a runaway wagon to save the day, he can be seen speeding around the track with his trademark Fighting Irish and flying shamrocks. Jim’s outgoing personality and willingness to always lend a hand is paralleled only by his reputation and outstanding record on the track. You will find this cowboy, year after year, placing in the top 4 aggregate for the APCCA. However, what makes this even more remarkable is that for the past 5 years, Jim has also won the Clean Driver Award, never sacrificing the health and safety of horses or a fellow cowboy in the pursuit of standings. Jim’s dedication to his craft has also earned him the Most Dedicated Driver Award, Volunteer of the Year Award, as well as the Greg Smith Memorial Award for Sportsmanship in addition to numerous APCCA Show Championships. While Jim cherishes all of these awards dearly, what truly means the most to this cowboy is the fact he can share it with family. Chuckwagon racing in the O’Connor household is a true family affair. Having had the love of the sport passed down from his father Dan, Jim too, has shared his passion for the sport with his daughters. Three generations of drivers, a rich family history, and an unbreakable bond make the O’Connor Racing Team a highlight of any event!

Racing is a sport that has been a part of my life since the time I was born as I grew up with many of my family members already being drivers. I had my rookie season in the summer of 2022. I followed in the footsteps of my dad, Jim O’Connor, as well as my grandpa, Dan O’Connor, making me a third generation driver. It has been a great experience to go from a little girl who sat in the stands and cheered my family on while they raced, to being a driver myself who is grateful for all of the people that come to cheer us on. It is a sport that I continue to learn and grow in with each new season that comes. Outside of racing, I play basketball in Edmonton as well as attend Augustana for a Bachelor of Arts, Majoring in Physical Education, with the end goal of becoming a highschool teacher who majors in Physed and minors in English.
Darryl Rice
Olds, AB
Darryl began racing in 2006, after marrying into what one would call a true chuckwagon and chariot family. Since stepping into a cart, Darryl has recounted many fond memories alongside his family and friends on the track. Darryl is most proud of his 2018 cart championship win in Rockyford but truly treasures having his children pick up the lines in the Stars of Tomorrow Program. Alongside his wife, Denise, Darryl enjoys teaching his children what it means to be humble but competitive out on the track as racing truly is a family sport.
Gary Salmond

Gary started racing in 1990 with extensive history across Canada and even into the States. Although Gary has taken home many show wins such as Williams Lake, TP Creek, and Grand Praire, Gary's most prized win is the Red Deer Weterner Days Chuckwagon Dash for Cash. Although racing is what Gary truly loves, he also enjoys the track commradery as well as the friends and family that come with it. He would like the thank all of the sponsors that he proudly displays on the tarp of his wagon.
Neil Salmond
Weekes, SK
Neil began racing chariots at age 16 and then at age 17 picked up the wagon lines and has never looked back. For 50 years, Neil has raced across Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta, and into the USA, where he has driven wagons at the Houston rodeo, the Denver Stock show, and raced wagons and chariots for many years at the Burwell, Nebraska rodeo.
Neil has captured many championships over the years. He is an avid racer and a tough competitor who loves both his horses and the sport. Neil and his wife Barb reside on their ranch near Weekes Saskatchewan. They have two sons; Wade and Evan, who are now strong competitors with the world professional chuckwagon association. They have one daughter, Heidi Leach, who races chariots in the EPCCA, along with her husband, Cody, who races wagons and carts also. Neil and Barb are the proud grandparents of eight grandchildren. (And one more on the way!)
Jack Stott
Lacombe, AB
Jack started tarted in 1970 with the Clover Park club in Fort Saskatchewan with his dad who served as director for many years. Jack and his family sold their farm in Edmonton and moved to Olds in 1979 and joined the Eckville Club. He is the proud patriarch of the Stott Racing team that consists of himself, 3 daughters, 1 son, 1 son in law, and John’s girlfriend who have all picked up the lines at some point. His grandkids have also picked up the lines in the Junior driving program (Stars of Tomorrow) and is hoping some will carry on the tradition. His grand kids are also a huge help at camp with he horses. Jack has many wins throughout his lengthy career and is quite often in the top 10. Along with his family he enjoys raising, breaking, and training horses to find the right combinations.
John Stott
Lacombe, AB
John is a 2nd generation driver following in the footsteps of his father Jack. John is often seen racing alongside his multiple sisters, son Kaden, and girlfriend Laura Talbot. Johns grandfather Jack drove stagecoach at the Edmonton Klondike Days which gave the family its start in driving wagons. John is a devoted family man and father to 3 children. In the off season, John works as a Boiler Technician. When he isn't waya working, John can be found training upcoming chuckwagon horses, riding in the mountains with Laura, and spending time with his family.

Kaden Stott
Innisfail, AB
Kaden Stott was born March of 2006 and currently lives in Innisfail. Kaden is a third generative driver winning Rookie Chariot Driver in 2022. In the 2024 season, Kaden secured the Rocky Mountain House and Viking Championship. In the off season, Kaden loves to golf, play hockey and lacrosse, and enjoys hunting. Kaden hopes to one day become a vet and give back to the animals who have supported him throughout his life. Kaden looks forward to another fun season.
Tracey Stott
Olds, AB
Tracey started racing in 1992 and was Rookie Chuckwagon driver for the Alberta Association as well as Rookie Chariot and Chuckwagon driver in both the Eckville and Calgary Clubs. Tracey is from a long line of racers and horse people within the Stott Racing Team. Her Grandpa Jack was the Edmonton Klondike Stagecoach driver and director, dad Jack, sisters Lori and Karen, brother John, brother-in-law Jonathan, John’s girlfriend Laura, nephews Karsen and Kaden and niece Savanah have all picked up the lines at one point. Her other nieces and nephew have also made their starts in the Junior Driving Program (Stars of Tomorrow). Racing is truly in her blood. She enjoys breaking and raising horses with her family and watching them succeed on the track. She has been lucky enough to have some wins over the years but does enjoy driving the younger ones, especially when they start working together. In the winter she enjoys some curling and hauling her nieces to gymkhanas.
Laura Talbot
Bashaw, AB
Laura was born in Whitehorse and spent much of her time travelling Canada until settling in Bashaw. She was first introduced to racing by John McRae in 1999 but began racing in 2001. Laura began travelling within the WPCA and got involved through many different means: galloping outriding horses, scrubbingharness, and everything in between. After 2014, Laura began racing once more but was unfortunelty involved in a wreck that required multiple surgeries. Laura then begn racing in 2023 alongside her boyfriend John Stott.
In 2017, Laura discovered her bio families history which involved her grandfather Slim Hill and father Bob Hill's involvement with racing thoroughbreds. In the off season you can find Laura trucking, training horses, and chasing cows alongside her dog.

Darren Twerdochlib
Viking, AB
Darren began driving in 1982 for a fellow driver. After two years, Darren fully committed to the sport buying his own team. Darren consistently ran in the top 15 but never secured a win until Vegreviile where he won the show by two 100ths of a second. Darren began raising colts and was awarded left pole horse of the year with his home grown equine athlete named Short Ears. In 2024, Darren Twerdochlib alongside Brett Dubuc and the Dubuc family secured the overall Chariot championship. Darren is grateful to be apart of a club that holds strong familial values.
Adam Waldner
Daysland, AB
Adam started his career as an outrider in 2011, but in 2012, made the transition to a cart. He placed within the top 3 in his first year and in his second year of racing, he took the second place championship. In 2014, Adam took the Chariot Championship and once again placed first in 2015. Adam then made the jump to a wagon and drove the Mark Harris Memorial Wagon, recieiving Wagon Rookie of the Year. In 2017, Adam finished third overall in the wagons and continues to look forward to many more years of racing. He serves on a few committees and uses his time around the track to provide farrier work for fellow drivers.
Jason Waldner
Camrose, AB
Jason Waldner started racing chariots in 2017 after following his brother Adam along the wagon trail. In that same year, Jason won the Rookie Chariot Driver buckle. Jason is often seen assisting Adam behind the scenes providing ferrier work to other chuckwagon families. He would like to thank his family, friends, and sponsors for their continued support.
Casey Wright
Stettler, AB
Casey Wright is a third-generation chuckwagon driver following in the footsteps of his father Todd and great-grandfather Artie. Casey began driving a chariot in 2015 and later stepped into the box of a wagon in 2018. Casey took home Rockyford Chariot champion in 2017 and later was awarded with the Rookie Wagon driver in 2018. In 2024 Casey was awarded the Most Sportsmanlike Driver Award. Casey would like to thank those for their continuous support in keeping the sport alive.
Todd Wright
Stettler, AB
Todd Wright is a chuckwagon driver who followed in the foosteps of his grandfather, Artie. He begn racing a chariot in 1996, winning Rookie of the Year. The following year he jumped into the box of a wagon, again winning Rookie of the Year. Todd's proudest years are when his son Casey joined him racing in 2015 and his daughter Emily, in 2018.
Dale Young
Sundre, AB
Dale grew up in the sport of chuckwagon and chariot racing, so it only seemed right that he would one day jump into a wagon box. Dale has raced in many provinces such as Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta. He is excited to once again partner up with the Clagary Flames Ambassadors to promote their favourite hockey team. Dale continues to be a top contender within the APCCA but couldnt do it without the help of his family. The invitation to take a photo with the Calgary Flames wagon is always open and looks forwards to conversing with race fans as he and his family travel from show to show.
Daxton Young
Sundre, AB
Daxton Young grew up on the racing circuit and as soon as he could, he had a set on lines in his hands. He started driving his mini wagon as one of the Stars of Tomorrow, which helped him learn how to handle a team. In 2023, Daxton made his debut as a chariot driver, winning the Rookie of the Year award for the APCCA club. He looks forward to another exciting year of racing.
Weekes, Sk
Kelvin began racing in 2001 and was fortunate to grow up in a large family involved in the chuckwagon and chariot circuit. Following in the footsteps of his brother Dale and sister Denise, Kelvin began racing as soon as he could. He strted racing a chariot at age 14 and a wagon at 16. Kelvin along with his wife Jessica and daughters Emma, Thea, and Macy travel together all across Saskatchewan and have enjoyed making the yearly trip to Red Deer for the last 12 years.
Taya Young

Taya Young started her racing career at a young age with her team of miniature horses with the Stars of Tomorrow program. She started racing chariots in 2021, and captured the title as Rookie Chariot Driver. She has continued to excel and become a very competative driver. In 2023, she won her first show title and looks forward to competing again this summer.

Tim Heidt
Drayton Valley, AB
Tim Heidt started driving chariots in BC in 1999 and later moved to a wagon in 2001. In 2008, Time decided that he would exchnage the lines for reins and begin as a pickup man for the standard bred races alongside Earl Patterson. Tim later jumped ship and began outriding for the All Pro club in 2011. Tim now spends his time as a full time outrider for the APCCA. Tim is regarded by APCCA drivers as a safety net, knowing that if Tim is on the track, all drivers and equine athletes will be safe.
Shaun Perley
Drayton Valley, AB
Shaun began driving a chariot in 2001 until 2011 in BC along side his dad, Tim Heidt. During this time he also rode as a pickup man for the standard bred races in Surrey, BC. In 2012, Shaun made the move to Alberta and began outriding for the All Pro club. Shaun began outriding for the APCCA in 2021. Shaun is another reliable rider who the driver depend on when things go awry.
Ty Suetter
Ardrossan, AB
Ty was born and raised on a 450 head cattle ranch. He then started rodeoing at the age of 11 and retired at 24. In his free time, apart from working as a welder, Ty spent many hours as a pick up man for many rodeos throughout Alberta. Ty recently made the switch back to cowboying after spending time in the oilfield insudustry. He started his company, Custom Cowboy, where he looks after producers cattle, provides vaccinations, and in the spring/fall, brands. Ty started running with the APCCA as an outriderin 2023 and had a blast. Ty would like to thank the directors and the drivers for trusting him on and off the track.. Ty would also like to thank his horse named cash for stepping up and being a rockstar on the track. Ty acknowledges that without his horse he couldnt do what he loves.

Doug Mills
Ardrossan, AB
Doug began following the race circuit in 1984, eventually catching the racing bug and driving his own hooks starting in 1989. In 2008, Doug put down the lines and took a brief break before deciding to once again take part in races by judging every heat from the infield in 2012. In 2014 judging turned into starting and eventually, Doug was named head judge and starter for the APCCA. Doug continues to serve as an appreciated member of the APCCA. Starter, Judge, Camera man, and Tech guy. Alongside him at every race is his wife Sue, who graciously photographs every driver in every heat.

Kendyl
Kendyl is 8 years old and has been driving a mini chuckwagon since she was 4 years old. Kendyl’s passion for horses is like no other. From her mini ponies all the way to her big saddle horse she never runs out of hugs for all of them! Kendyl and her younger sister both drive mini chuckwagons. Her dad also drives a chuckwagon and her mom runs a chariot. The need for speed is in her blood with lots of her family also joining her in the sport! When she is not in her chuckwagon you will find her riding her horse and playing with her friends.
Jayd
Jayd has been driving a mini chuckwagon since she was 3 years old. There was no way her big sister was going to have all the fun! Jayd is a fierce, competitive driver and loves the speed.She spends most of her time brushing, training and giving her ponies cookies. Her excitement for the sport is in her blood as her dad drives a chuckwagon and her mom drives a chariot as well as many of her family members. When Jayd is off the track you will find her riding her horse, playing with her friends and telling her dad how to do things correctly.
Virgil
Virgil began racing in 2023 at the age of 4. He enjoys running around the track with his Stars of Tomorrow pals and cheering them on from his own wagon. You can often see Virgil tagging along behind his dad, Levi Cretney, who helps him out during race time. Virgil loves his ponies and can't wait for another fun season of racing!
Makayla
Makayla was born with the love of horses and is lucky enough to share that love with many of her family members. Her greatgrandfather, Blair Hardie, was awarded a life time membership awards by the EPCCA in 2022, her grandfather, Bill Govenlock, continues to race with the APCCA, and her cousins and auntie also follow along with racing tradition. One day, Makayla would like to own her own horses as well as run a farm with tons of animals. Makayla enjoys racing alongside the other Stars of Tomorrow Drivers and looks forward to many more races to come.

Rhett started driving minis in 2022 at the age of 4, and comes from a family of wagon drivers. His grandpa Brian Miller started in 1985 and Rhett’s mom started in 2002 and his uncle in 2008. Rhett’s dad married into the family sport and started driving in 2015. Rhett’s parents both retired from racing in 2023 but still travel down the road to a few shows so Rhett can continue on. The mini wagon has brought Rhett out of his shell a lot, and from going to a kid who wouldn’t have much to do with the horses to where he can’t wait till summer to race his minis, he now counts down the days. Rhett wants to thank his sponsors B Bar C Simmentals out of Bowden and Continental Cattle Carriers out of Drumheller. He is looking forward to his first show of the season.
