The UCP was formed, finally. The NDP looked across the full province to find candidates to fill each riding seat for the first time on the ballot, as they became a contender for government for the first time in Albertan History (no different than the Wildrose- only more dramatic, and more experienced). The Notley Party, was running a leader, Rachel Notley: whom was the daughter of a former party leader- her father Grant Notley. It was not appropriate for her to be needing to search for that many candidates on the last minute due to Prentice Practices. The only real advantage of Prentice as premier, is that his deceased status leaves the rest of the members of the legislature with experience commenting on what actually happened. It was not a normal election process and it was more than appropriate to have RCMP investigate in the UCP leadership race later due to the abnormality, suggested by both myself and Rachel Notley. Rachel Notley looked to form a Peter Lougheed style Progressive Conservative style government in Alberta. This was both respectful, reasonable, and appropriate. Her contribution, was stepping up as one of the most vital politicians in Alberta to bridge and stabilize a collapsing political system. It is not a functioning electoral process to present two competing, merging, but not merging, but still trying to replace one another parties, into an election while ousting the leader responsible for the merger talks. The leader Danielle Smith required a role in continuing to define what the Wildrose was, now that her members that crossed, were part of another parties government. No, there was not need for a bielection that did not feature Danielle Smith running against another party. No, there are not leaders knocked out of their seats by internal suprise candidates from greater Calgary in normal bielections. No, this was not a standard politician. This was not a standard set of Progressive Conservative Practices, and even with my Political Hero Jason Kenney, becomming premier- there are questions remaining regarding why Jim Prentice and a failing PC dynasty was presented as such to begin with. The newer opinion articles, regarding the UCP articulate a UCP built on a total of half the province's support roughly. Yes. That was exactly what the Conservatives were allegedly presenting when they lost. This was not a devastating loss for the Progressive Conservatives. Albertan's got lucky. Alberta had someone ready to govern that already was experienced whom herself wanted to represent the same - Everyone is a Progressive Conservative Style of governing. All Albertans govern within one Party. Edmonton Mayor loved the Alberta Party Branding. That was Stephen Mandel's solution to Conservatives needing a merger. What now presents a unique hurdle, is yet another defection of politicians involved in stabilizing the province. We have a stable opposition, and a stable government. We actually have two governments full of ministers sitting present in the house, meaning they could merge and have one very large cabinet with a Senior and Junior Minister. Alberta Liberals Raj Sherman joined Danielle Smith. Naheed Nenshi is here to create so Albertan unity. Well... formally merge. Don't try push former ministers out of the Notley Government's critic roles. Notley is the Party of Notley, not a Canadian National Party run by Thomas Mulclair and Jagmeet Singh. Naheed Nenshi, will need to access what he is stepping into. Here is my updated version of what happened. 

Here is the UCP story. The UCP formed government after the collapse of the Alberta Political system was run by Albertan Centrist leaning Rachel Notley refused to endorse the Federal NDP, and Federal Liberals. That means both left leaning parties were left unendorsed, with no left leaning alternative presented, and the only major choices left being the Conservative Party of Canada, and the Bloq Quebec (only in Quebec). No Notley can not just go an endorse Harper when Harper's best friend Jason Kenney is running against her. Jason Kenney and Rona Ambrose watched the 2016 Hillary Clinton Vs. Donald Trump election together in 2016 at Mr. Harper's house. That would be a public nightmare to endorse Mr. Harper's Conservative Party Federally, only to be rejected openly and publicly, despite likely securing an endorsement for being conservative leaning if Notley were facing an electoral competitor that was not best friends with Mr. Harper. Mr. Harper, is the embodiment of most of the Conservative Party. Mr. Harper actually is for the most part in my view, one of the few politicians that the full western bloc of the country had put together and trained and raised and supported consistently like he was their own spirtual kid, or elected employee of the monarch. I was taught that members of parliament and Members of the legislature were to behave as elected monarchs, and copy the edicate and well mannered behaviour as best as possible, while representing the people the same way the king does, while still accountable to the king whom was capable of calling for an election in a crisis. Presently the updated version of this, the governor general, in a crisis operates as the King's employee again, whom is them tasked an delgated to be sequestered to form and dissolve governments including in crisis'. Yes, well mannered, thoughtfully worded, Mr. Harper really is our general population in Western Canada's most revered professional in the country as he represents us to a larger Audience made possible by the monarch. The monarch extends our relvance to former Colonies, Africa, Asia, and overall serves a vital role in the promotion of international peace and cooperation. This peace and cooperation included the efforts to come together as Queen Elizabeth did, comemorating World War II and it's victims as being a tragety. The Queen also promoted that we commit to one another to promote cooperation, and a peaceful integration of Europe with the Common Wealth over time.  Was that interesting? I hope so. That is where I lost your attention likely, or fear internally to have lost some shred of your interest. Naheed Nenshi will now inherit a stable, peaceful, small Alberta, in a big world. We are however, a land mass not much smaller than Great Britain, with a high standard of living, self motivation and determination, and within God's good religious graces to exist as such. What I mean, is that Naheed Nenshi is not just getting a mouthfull of political fluffery, he is actually inheriting a stable alberta, unless he contributes to destabilizing it. Make no mistake, there are people that step up. Most Albertans are religious, while I personally presume this is more non mass attending and non church attending, it is a province that values our God. Our God, is now back in Alberta's politics. Like it or not, Alberta is a islam safe province, where I do beleive we will continue to move to combat islamiphobia within the conservative parties (including Notley's center right party or centrist party). Now, yes... Naheed Nenshi can run a full new program, have new ads, a new script, and then completely copy other provinces as they go from crisis to crisis, overspending, charging provincial sales tax, and leaving less opportunity to address the programs used by Albertans with sustained funding. Other Provinces provide programs that cease, or are changed due to unsustainable funding. Alberta has kept a 40 year plan, works with our cities, and quite frankly will need to look at urban density as the major issue for the next 80 years of Albertan life. 

The UCP from my understanding has picked up from where Notley did. Notley, went back to whatever Redford was doing. That was more than less where she started her review of policy. Prentice wanted to scrap reford policy, then just died in a plane crash. Thank God. Thank God for myself. I really found that man frustrating to listen to in interviews. Notley looked through health care funding and more than less just bridged the funding for all existing programs. This ended the oil price discussions from CIBC. There never needed to be a paniced response. City life goes on, and more savings on oil, means more spending when jobs are not axed. The Notley government largely was derailed in my view from presenting a platform that differed much from the Progressive Conservatives. I am not stating this as an insult but rather a major compliment to the Notley party. Jason Kenney lost control of the UCP. I personally requested over twitter that my childhood Political Hero, Jason Kenney step down. Jason Kenney was polling high, and needed to expell 10 ministers or mlas roughly to resume uninhibited functioning of the provincial government. I viewed it as better to have Danielle Smith step in to lead the UCP. A leaderless UCP created the same political mess that was left again, or at least could do so if not addressed by an experienced leader. Danielle Smith took over, and since taking over has moved towards more than less resuming Kenney's functions, while also traveling around the province to meet the UCP, mostly Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta Voting Delegates. Danielle Smith has not made any major changes in general. Naheed Nenshi inherits a nice stable province, a nice group of people he wanted to work with from the UCP. Naheed Nenshi also inherits a nice stable province with a nice group of people he wanted to work with from the (nearly renamed) Notley Party. There is no longer a need to criticize prentice for his personal show of depressive symptoms on Camera, and life resumes as normal. Now. Danielle Smith. Well lets just review her whole fucking life. She did stuff. She did more stuff. She did other stuff. She said some things. she retracted some things. She restated some things she retracted. She became the Premier of the province. That seems comprehensive enough to fill Naheed Nenshi in, on what he missed between now and the last time he wanted to be Premier of Alberta. 

So... First off, thank you for reading my little blurb or whatever informal, non repetative prose I just chose.  I write regularly on what continues to be the same topics. Naheed Nenshi is someone I do admire and respect. That would not be clear from my writing. I consider Ms. Notley to be a hero, but also someone whom gave me a bit of a run for my money when pushing down the clock regarding my return to school in 2017. I felt I would be best to obtain grade 11, and then grade 12. Ms. Notley decided in my favor. Ms. Notley is someone I do discuss regularly privately. I find her to be a lively conservative, that has Albertan conservative values. To disclose my bias. I grew up being preached to, that Alberta was a one party system that had a Conservative Leaning Party, that had two names thus far in government, until 2015. I was taught that everyone just gets together, and then they disagree in the same party, then they agree on some things. I am joking by the way. That is why I informalized the last paragraph broadly. Alberta moves a bit to the right, a bit to the center, and then back to the right. They are always in the center right. We spend less. We pay for others. We get criticized. We are good people. We are pragmatic people. We beleive in eachother. We choose cooperating from within government normally. We join together because it is the Albertan thing to do. Everyone compromises a little. That is how we find common ground, at least from what I was taught. Some of what I think was informed by family, school, but also by Klein editorials in the Edmonton Sun growing up. I am a life long Harperite. I chose to back Harper until he exits politics in 2003 after Paul Martin pushed Jean Cretien into retirement. I cast my first student vote for Mr. Harper.
