Take Sharie Minions, for example: A successful realtor and mortgage broker, in 2018 she was elected mayor of Port Alberni at age 30, making her the youngest mayor in Vancouver Island’s history. She now adds restauranteur to her resumé. Together with her husband, Colin, this past summer she opened Brie & Barrel, a casual Italian spot specializing in handmade pasta and wine flights.

This place has absolutely delicious fish and chips. Make sure to gauge your hunger right so you order correctly because the portions are huge. The fish is all very large and fried to perfection. I recommend a side dish like this slaw to cut the richness of the fried food. They’re dipping sauces are awesome and we ordered every single one of them. They have beverages and many other things on the menu and the ordering system is very organized and tight.

Love the place with its live edge tables ! Food and drinks were good. Service was a bit slow but it was busy and we are in a pandemic so I’m sure that just adds more difficulty especially with very few staff. I will definitely go back and the island pace in the restaurant was fine because I was in good company so the time flew anyway.

Located on Johnston Rd, on east not far from Boomerangs Cafe. our family three have "Beer Flight (showing on the picture).  The black one is called Island Stout; next is called Loggers. and then... enjoy different taste fresh beer. and the food is also delicious. we have Alberni Burger, Prawn coconut curry bowl, and Pesto Chicken Quensadilla. fair price. _Will
