2023 rules.docx1. Commissioner has authority to settle league disputes and judge interpretation of rules. The commissioner’s decisions are final.
3. Players are responsible to pay their own course fees.
4. Players’ scores will not be counted until the league fee is paid.
5. League starts on June 12 and will include six courses and one final course for a total of seven.
6. Player ranking will be determined by a points system similar to the PGA Tour FedEx Cup. Points will be awarded to players after each course using Table 1.
7. For ties, the total points for each tying position will be averaged, and that average will be distributed to each player in the tying position.
8. The regular season rankings (courses one through six) will determine stroke advantages for the final course (course seven). The number of players to receive a stroke advantage and the number of strokes will be determined based on total league participants.
a. Generally, the top third or fourth of players will receive a stroke advantage
b. The stroke advantage for first place is unmatched.
9. Stroke advantages for the final will be posted on the website prior to the start of course six.
10. The points awarded for the final course are worth three times that of a regular season course.
11. The league champion is the player with the most total points after the final.
a. 1st place receives a trophy and a golf prize pack.
b. 2nd place receives a golf prize pack.
c. 3rd place receives a golf prize pack.
12. The player(s) with the most holes-in-one receives a trophy.
13. There may be a voluntary TopGolf Tournament and a voluntary Par 3 Tournament for those who wish to participate (dates to be determined).
a. Players are responsible to pay their own fees.
b. Winners will each receive a trophy.
1. Cheating will not be tolerated. Mulligans are not allowed. Anyone caught cheating may face expulsion from the league.
2. If there is a designated spot provided for teeing off, such as a putting matt or small tee, then you must tee off from that spot.
3. Every player takes their first shot before any player takes a second shot.
4. The player whose ball is nearest the hole continues putting until they complete the hole. Play continues with the next closest player.
5. Players may use a marker, such as a coin, to mark the position of their ball only if the ball is expected to interfere with another player’s shot. Use the following steps:
a. Place the marker directly behind the ball in relation to the hole.
c. When ready to putt, replace the ball directly in front of the marker in relation to the hole.
6. A ball inbounds near a boundary or obstacle may be moved one club head length perpendicular to boundary or obstacle before taking the next stroke: no penalty.
7. If a ball goes out of bounds, then reposition the ball inbounds one club head length from where the ball went out of bounds and add one penalty stroke for hole.
a. Exception: If you tee off and the ball rolls back behind the tee off position AND goes out of bounds, then replay tee off. Add one penalty stroke.
8. If you tee off and the ball rolls back behind the tee off position and remains inbounds, then replay tee off; no penalty.
9. If a ball becomes stuck in an obstacle such that it is not playable, then reposition the ball inbounds one club head length from where the ball first entered the obstacle and add one penalty stroke for hole.
10. If ball cannot be repositioned within one club head length of required spot and remain at rest (ex. on a slope), then the player may choose to either (a) reposition the ball to where the last stroke was taken or (b) continue with the next stoke while the ball rests on the club head at the required spot (this would not allow for a back swing to a stroke).
11. If a ball at rest is deflected by anything not associated with course (ex. other players, objects, or animals), then return the ball to original spot prior to deflection; no penalty.
12. If a ball at rest (Ball A) is hit by another player’s ball (Ball B), then Ball A must be returned to original spot prior to collision and Ball B is played as it lies; no penalty.
13. If a ball in motion is deflected by anything not associated with course (ex. other players, objects, or animals), then pickup ball and replay the stroke; no penalty.
14. Maximum strokes per hole (not counting penalty strokes) is six. After taking six strokes, pick up ball, add any penalty strokes, score hole, and continue to next hole.
15. Special scoring rules at the courses may be used if decided by commissioner. The special scoring rules only apply if the commissioner communicates this prior to the course’s designated two-week window.
a. An example would be the Forsythe course; it has specific stroke rules on some of the holes that can affect your score.
16. Players will have two weeks to play the designated course and submit their completed scores by midnight of the last day of the course’s two-week window (Sunday night).
17. Scores must be submitted through the website.
18. Players must attest to the correctness of their scores upon submission.
19. There is no limit on how many times a player may play a course, but only one score per player per course will be accepted.
a. If multiple scores for a player for the same course are received, only the first score submitted will be accepted.
Player A has taken 5 strokes and the ball has gone out of bounds on each stroke.
(Strokes = 5, Penalty Strokes = 5, Current hole score = 10)
Player A takes their last permitted stroke (stroke 6), and the ball went out of bounds again. The total score for the hole is 12 (6 strokes and 6 penalty strokes).
Player B has taken 5 strokes and the ball has gone out of bounds on each stroke.
(Strokes = 5, Penalty Strokes = 5, Current hole score = 10)
Player B takes their last permitted stroke (stroke 6) and the ball stayed in bounds but did not go in the hole. The total score for the hole is 11 (6 strokes and 5 penalty strokes).
