200 word audience grabber
Today I will be giving a rhetorical analysis on an article called “Stop Expecting Life to go Back to Normal Next Year” by Aaron E. Carroll. This article is a great example of a persuasive piece. In the article Carrol tries to persuade the American population that the virus is not going away as fast as they think. He also emphasizes that we need to make sure we think about all the factors of the vaccine or any treatments they come out with before we just assume they will work. I will assess the large amount of logos he uses to deliver his topic. We will also talk about how Carroll uses ethos to prove his point and persuade readers that it’s valid. The intended audience and the purpose of the article will also be discussed. I chose this article because it’s something most people are familiar with, and there was also a clear bias. In the conclusion I will say whether or not I agree with the content of this article. In addition, I will decide whether or not I think the author did good at persuading his readers. Do you think Carroll could possibly be right about the virus not ending soon? Do you think he has evidence to back us his theory? Tune in to find out more!!!!
