I am a Professor of Pure Mathematics in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Bath, where I work as part of the Algebra, Geometry and Number Theory (AGNT) group.
My research interests lie in algebraic geometry and representation theory, with a focus on quiver moduli spaces. My research is supported in part by EPSRC grant UKRI2779.
I am currently Head of Division for Pure Mathematics.
After completing my PhD at the University of Warwick in 2001, I spent two years as a Wylie Instructor at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and then three years as a Simons Instructor at Stony Brook University in New York. I returned to the UK in 2006 to take up a position as a Lecturer at the University of Glasgow, becoming a Senior Lecturer in 2009. I moved to the University of Bath as a Reader in 2013. I struggled with severe health problems for several years, but I returned to research in mid-2018 and was promoted to Professor three years later.
