Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how MobileGallery ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the Alarm Clock App (the "App"), a smart alarm clock application that includes features like weather updates, world clock, stopwatch, and snooze options.
The App is developed and operated by MobileGallery. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy complies with applicable laws including GDPR (for users in the European Union), CCPA/CPRA (for California residents), CalOPPA, and Google Play Developer Program Policies (including User Data and Data Safety requirements).
Important: The App does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information such as name, email, or phone number. All alarm settings, stopwatch data, and other user preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not collect any personal data directly through the App.
1. Introduction and Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the Alarm Clock App on Android devices. It describes what information (if any) is collected, how third-party services may process data, the permissions the App requests, and your rights.
2. Information We Collect
We do not collect any personal data from you.
All user data (such as alarm times, repeat settings, snooze preferences, world clock selections, and stopwatch records) is stored locally on your device using secure local storage (Room database and DataStore).
No data is uploaded to our servers or any backend we control.
We do not collect device identifiers, location history, usage patterns, or any other personal information for our own purposes.
Any limited data processed by third-party services (detailed below) is handled according to their policies, and we do not have access to it.
3. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
Since we do not collect or process any personal data, there is no personal data processing by us that requires a legal basis under GDPR.
For third-party services (such as Firebase Analytics, advertising networks, or location/weather features):
Processing occurs only when you enable related features or view ads.
Their legal bases are typically consent (which you provide via permissions and feature usage) or legitimate interests (as described in their policies).
4. Permissions We Use in Our App and Why
The App requests specific Android permissions only when necessary for core features. We explain each one clearly below:
POST_NOTIFICATIONS — Allows the App to display alarm notifications, stopwatch timers, and alerts so you wake up or get reminded on time. No personal data is collected via notifications.
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM and USE_EXACT_ALARM — Essential for scheduling alarms to ring at the exact time you set, even if the device is in Doze mode or idle. This ensures reliable alarm performance.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — Lets the App automatically restore and reschedule alarms after your device restarts, so you never miss one due to a reboot.
USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT — Displays a full-screen alarm interface (even on lock screen) for clear visibility and easy snooze/dismiss actions.
VIBRATE — Enables device vibration during alarms as an extra alert (helpful if sound is off).
WAKE_LOCK — Keeps the device awake briefly during alarm triggering to ensure the sound plays and screen turns on properly.
INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_WIFI_STATE — Required to fetch current weather based on your location, load advertisements (AdMob, AdX, Facebook/Meta Audience Network), and communicate with third-party services like Firebase. No personal data is accessed or transmitted by us through these.
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION and ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION — Used only when you enable weather features to provide accurate or approximate local weather. Location is fetched on-demand and not stored or shared by the App.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE — Allows ongoing stopwatch or timer notifications to run reliably in the foreground with a visible indicator.
REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS — Requests exemption from battery restrictions so alarms and timers are not delayed or killed by aggressive power-saving modes (common for clock apps).
You can review or revoke any permission at any time in your device Settings > Apps > Alarm Clock App > Permissions.
5. Data Storage and Security
All App data remains on your device. We use:
Room database for structured alarm and settings storage.
DataStore for simple key-value preferences.
We do not transmit this data to any server. Security relies on Android's built-in protections (encrypted storage where applicable). We cannot guarantee absolute security (no system is 100% secure), but we follow best practices in development.
6. Third-Party Libraries & SDKs Used in Our App
The App integrates several standard libraries and services. Here is a detailed list with purposes and links to their privacy policies/terms:
AndroidX Libraries (androidx.core, appcompat, material, activity, constraintlayout) — Provide core Android compatibility, UI components, and modern design. See Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Room Database (androidx.room) — Local storage for alarms and settings. No data leaves device.
Koin (Dependency Injection) — Helps organize code; no data collection.
DataStore (androidx.datastore) — Modern local preferences storage.
Ktor Client (networking) + Kotlinx Serialization — Fetches weather data via secure HTTP. See Ktor documentation (no central privacy policy; open-source).
Google Play Services Location (com.google.android.gms:play-services-location) — Provides accurate location for weather when enabled. See Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Lottie (Airbnb) — Renders smooth animations for better user experience. Open-source; no data collection.
Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Firestore, Cloud Messaging via Firebase BoM):
Firebase Analytics — Collects anonymized usage stats to improve the App.
Crashlytics — Collects crash reports to fix bugs.
Firestore — Not used for user data storage (only potential internal use if needed).
FCM — Potential future push notifications (not currently used for user messaging). See Firebase Privacy and Security: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Advertising SDKs: Google AdMob / AdX and Facebook (Meta) Audience Network — Display non-personalized or contextual ads (depending on settings). They may collect device advertising identifiers and usage data for ad serving. See Google AdMob policies (via Google Privacy): https://policies.google.com/privacy See Meta Privacy Policy: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy
7. Advertising, Analytics, and Tracking Technologies
The App displays ads via AdMob, AdX, and Facebook Audience Network. Ads may use device advertising ID for frequency capping or contextual targeting.
Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics collect anonymized data to understand usage and crashes.
We do not link this to any personal identity.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The App does not use cookies (as it is a mobile app, not a website). Third-party SDKs may use similar technologies like advertising IDs.
9. Detailed Information on the Processing of Your Personal Data
Since we collect no personal data, there is no detailed processing by us. Third parties (Firebase, ad networks) process limited non-personal or device data per their policies (linked above).
10. Data Retention and Deletion
Local data (alarms, settings) remains until you uninstall the App or clear its storage. Third-party data retention follows their policies (e.g., Firebase anonymizes data quickly; see their privacy page).
11. Payment Terms and In-App Purchases
The App offers in-app purchases and subscriptions for premium features.
All payments and subscriptions are handled exclusively by Google Play Billing. We do not collect, store, or access your payment details (credit card, Google account password, etc.).
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the next billing date.
Manage or cancel subscriptions anytime in your Google Play account settings. Premium features continue until the current period ends if canceled.
Google may share limited, non-personal info (e.g., subscription status) with us to unlock features.
Refunds and cancellations follow Google Play rules.
We do not share purchase info with other third parties except as required by Google.
See Google Play Terms of Service: https://play.google.com/about/play-terms
See Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
12. User Rights Under GDPR
If GDPR applies:
Access: Contact us to inquire about any data (though none is collected by us).
Control: Manage permissions and disable features (e.g., location, ads).
Deletion / Objection: Uninstall the App to delete local data. For third-party data, follow their opt-out processes (e.g., Firebase settings or ad personalization controls).
13. User Rights Under CCPA/CPRA
California residents: We do not sell personal information (none collected). You have rights to know, delete, and opt out of sales (not applicable). Contact us for questions.
14. “Do Not Track” (CalOPPA)
The App does not track you across apps/websites. Mobile "Do Not Track" signals are not currently standardized for apps, but you can limit tracking via device ad settings and permissions.
15. International Data Transfers
Any limited data processed by third parties (Google, Meta) may be transferred globally, protected by their safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses). See their policies.
16. Protection from Malware and Network Misuse
We do not engage in malware, unauthorized network access, or misuse. The App follows Google Play security guidelines.
17. Links to Other Websites and Apps
The App may link to third-party policies (as above). We are not responsible for their content or practices.
18. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
19. Compliance with Legal Obligations and Law Enforcement
We may disclose information if required by law, but since we hold none, this is unlikely.
20. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy. Check back or see the "Last Updated" date. Significant changes will be noted in the App or Play Store listing.
