My educational philosophy follows the thoughts of Creative Curriculum. Students learn best by doing.
I believe Project Based Learning and hands on experiences are critical to the learning process. It can make the difference between memorizing facts that have no real world application or reference to students, and information being discovered and truly learned by a student.
As an Education Leader, it will be my job to advocate for these experiences within my school and make sure they are currently utilized to not only benefit students but aligned with the standards that each student needs to succeed at the next level. In a leadership role, I will also need to make sure funding is available for the proper resources to allow my teachers to facilitate these projects on a consistent basis and such a large scale as school or district wide. These experiences can set apart a child's learning experience and put them on a path to success later in life that would not have otherwise been available to them in another environment.
