PhD Positions Available:

PhD positions in Mechanical Engineering are available in Dr. Alan C. H. Tsang’s research group at the University of Hong Kong. The research will focus on the areas of microfluidics, biofluid mechanics and biophysics, with specific emphasis on:

(1) Motility and biological adaptation of swimming microorganisms

(2) Reinforcement learning of artificial microswimmers

(3) Collective behavior of biological and artificial microswimmers (active matter)

The projects will involve mathematical modeling, computer simulations, microfluidics, microscopy, high-speed imaging and data processing.

Candidates with Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Applied mathematics, Computer Science or related areas are encouraged to apply.
