Outreach
Canada/USA Mathcamp - I was a mentor in 2020 and a faculty member in 2021. See my teaching page for more information.
Clubes de Ciencia México - I spent one week in the summers of 2018 and 2019 in Oaxaca, México as a co-instructor for Clubes de Ciencia. I led interactive mathematics workshops for high school and university students. I designed a workshop on the mathematics of the Rubik's cube in 2018, and one on the mathematics of music in 2019 (summary from the last day).
UChicago Directed Reading Program - During my time as a graduate student, I mentored 10+ undergraduate mathematics students through the Directed Reading Program. The topics included fractal geometry, signal processing, and analytic number theory.
Princeton Math Club - I was the president of the math club in 2013. We ran events such as an undergraduate colloquium series, social nights, meet-your-professor lunches, and mentoring events.
Mercer County Math Circle - I co-founded this math circle in fall 2013. The math circle meets biweekly at the Princeton Public Library, next to campus. It aims to bring the university and the community together through mathematics. We try to provide fun mathematical activities for students at various levels.
PUMaC - The Princeton University Math Competition is an annual high school math competition run by Princeton students. I was the head writer for the 2013 Power Round (problems and solutions) and the 2012 Team Round (problems and solutions). I also ran the Rubik's Cube mini-events in the afternoon. In 2023, I gave the PUMaC Math Talk.
Princeton Splash - In 2012, I founded Princeton Splash, which runs a day-long event where high school students come onto campus to take a number of classes created and taught by Princeton students. Our goal is to support local high schools with non-traditional forms of education and foster a love of learning in the community. In our first Splash (2013), we attracted over 180 high school students and 80 student volunteers. The courses covered a wide array of interests including "Conceptual Quantum Mechanics," "Improv Comedy with Quipfire!", and "The Chemistry of Chocolate."
Princeton Cube Club - I was the president of the Princeton Rubik's Cube Club for two years. I organized the two cube competitions, Princeton Spring 2013 and Princeton Winter 2014, as well as "Learn-to-cube" events, both on and off campus.
PROMYS - I was a counselor in 2011.
NACLO - I received a bronze medal at the International Linguistics Olympiad in Sweden in 2010. Now, I submit problems for North American Computational Linguistics Olympiad! One of my problems, "Warlpiri Kinship Groups," appeared in the second round of the 2013 NACLO and was later featured in Alex Bellos's puzzle column in The Guardian.
