I'm Alan Bartlett (they/them/theirs), a PhD student at Purdue University working under Dr. Tabb Prissel in the Purdue Petrology Suite.
I am interested in how the textures and chemistry of igneous rocks record the history of their magmatic conditions, as well as how Earth analogs inform our understanding of volcanism on other planets and vice versa.
In 2025, I received a BS in Geological Sciences with certificates in Field Geology and Planetary Science from Arizona State University. I completed my Honors Thesis research under Dr. Christy Till, performing petrographic analysis of Mt. Shasta andesites.Â
In my free time, I enjoy drawing, storytelling, and fishing.
