MULAN'S LUNAR NEW YEAR

In January 2020, Alana purchased the book "Mulan's Lunar New Year" to learn about the Lunar New Year Festival before she flew to California.  Alana brought the book with her to California and had the opportunity to show Mulan and Mushu her favorite parts.  

CHINESE OUTFITS

THE MINNIE OUTFIT WE CHASED FOR eight YEARS

Back in 2014 when we really started to meet characters, Minnie appeared at an event wearing this outfit.  It became our goal for years.  We would sometimes purchase tickets to events on a theory that Minnie might appear in this dress, but she never did.  So it was a complete surprise when Minnie randomly appeared in this dress at a RunDisney event as part of Wine and Dine 2022 weekend.  Mickey also wore his matching outfit, but appeared on the race course - so now Mickey is our goal!

Mickey and Minnie originally wore these outfits at a ticketed event called Harambe Nights.  The event was hosted at Animal Kingdom.  Being so new to meeting characters, the only "new" character for us that night was Timon, so we decided to pass on the event.  But when we saw pictures of Mickey and Minnie wearing these outfits, we immediately regretted not going to the event.  We wouldn't see Mickey and Minnie wear them again for five years when we randomly bumped into them on New Year's Eve 2019.

Donald often meets near the Mexican pyramid, but not directly in front of it.  So when Alana and I were running a RunDisney 5K race and saw Donald at this location, we knew it was a chance for an amazing photo.  Photopass was there, but taking zoomed-up photos.  Luckily we run with our DSLR camera.  It was starting to rain, and we had one shot for this photo - and luckily it turned out perfect, and to this day is one of our favorites.

PARISIAN OUTFITS

A PARISIAN DAY WITH MINNIE

During our second trip to Disneyland Paris, Minnie started doing meets in this amazing Parisian outfit - adorned with an Eiffel Tower in her hat.  The timing was perfect and we met her in the front of the Walt Disney Studios park.

OUTFITS FROM THE RIVIERA

These outfits are typically reserved for the Riviera cruises through Central America, but Mickey and gang wore them to a wedding celebration of two of our friends.  Very thankfully we were invited to the wedding, not just for these outfits but for the fun memories of sailing on the Disney Wonder with friends.
