Dr. Akond Rahman

Akond Rahman is an assistant professor at Auburn University. His research interests include DevOps and Secure Software Development. He graduated with a PhD from North Carolina State University, an M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Connecticut, and a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. He won the ACM SIGSOFT Doctoral Symposium Award at ICSE in 2018, the ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished Paper Award at ICSE in 2019, the CSC Distinguished Dissertation Award, and the COE Distinguished Dissertation Award from NC State in 2020. He actively collaborates with industry practitioners from GitHub, WindRiver, and others. Dr. Hossain Shahriar

Dr. Hossain Shahriar is Associate Director and Professor for the Center for Cybersecurity at the University of West Florida. His research interests include mobile and web security, mhealth, EHR systems and healthcare security, HIPAA compliance checking, malware analysis, automatic checking of vulnerabilities, and mitigation. His research projects have been supported by the National Science Foundation, National Security Agency, the Department of Defense, National Institute of Health, and private industry partners. He developed and taught courses with open-source materials such as Ethical Hacking, AI in Cybersecurity, Health Information Security and Privacy, Computing Infrastructure, and Information Security Concepts and Administration. Dr. Shahriar has served as Program Chair (IEEE ICDH), Publication Chair (ACM SAC), and Proceedings Chair (IEEE COMPSAC)  in conferences.

My research interest statement:

"I am dedicated to researching the security and privacy aspects of advanced technologies in the digital landscape. Specifically, my interests lie in securing machine learning models against adversarial threats and privacy breaches, enhancing the security of blockchain networks, and ensuring healthcare data privacy and compliance in mobile applications, particularly with regard to HIPAA regulations. My research aspirations center on addressing real-world security challenges and contributing to the ever-evolving field of cybersecurity, ultimately striving to make a positive impact on technology's safe and responsible advancement."
