About me
Abderrahmane Lakas (Senior Member, IEEE) is a Professor of Computer and Network Engineering at the College of Information Technology (CIT), UAE University. He received his M.S and Ph.D in Computer Systems from the University of Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, France. He is the head of CAST (Connected Autonomous Intelligent Systems) research group. He has several years of experience in both academia and the industry. Prior to joining UAE University in 2003, Prof. Lakas worked in the telecommunication industry in various technical positions including at Netrake (USA, 2000), Nortel Networks (Canada, 1998), and Newbridge (Canada, 1996). His research interests include Mobile and Wireless Networks, Quality of Service (QoS), Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networks, Vehicular ad hoc Networks (VANET), Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Internet of Things (IoT), Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), intelligent autonomous systems, cybersecurity, and pervasive systems. Prof. Lakas authored more than a hundred journal and conference papers such as IEEE Transactions in Vehicular Technology, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, IEEE Transactions on Green Communications and Networking. He is ranked among the World's Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University. He is actively participating in conferences such as IEEE VTC, IEEE CC, IEEE Globcom, IEEE WCNC. Prof. Lakas is a senior member of IEEE and serves as associate editor of IEEE Access, IET Networks, IET Smart Cities.
