Founded in 2015, the Sweet Home Alabama Kodály Educators (SHAKE) provides Alabama music educators opportunities for free professional development in the Kodály Concept.  

Our Objectives: 

The purpose of SHAKE shall be to (1) promote Kodaly-based music educational philosophy, structure, and application, (2) sponsor clinics and workshops, (3) increase the number of music educators in Alabama and throughout the Southeast knowledgeable in Kodaly techniques, (4) improve the musical learning of children, youth, and adults, (5) encourage an exchange of ideas and materials helpful in strengthening music programs in Alabama and throughout the Southeast, and, (6) work and affiliate with other Kodaly-oriented organizations.
