Dr. Akshay Kalgutkar is currently a Post-Doctoral Researcher in the Department of Civil Engineering at Aalto University, Espoo, Finland. His research expertise lies in Computational Mechanics and Structural Health Monitoring, focusing on the behaviour of damaged structures using vibrational and ultrasonic wave-based approaches through experiments and Finite Element modelling. His work also involves studies to investigates the instability characteristics of laminated structures. He is the recipient of the prestigious Prime Minister’s Research Fellows awarded by the Government of India. His work contributes significantly to advancing non-destructive evaluation techniques and understanding dynamic behaviour in composite and laminated structural systems.
