In Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata, he derived the celebrated 'Raychaudhuri Equation' which subsequently led to the formulation of Singularity Theorems . A two-day symposium is being jointly organized by Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science and Indian Institute of Science Education and Research on August 11 and 12, 2023, to commemorate his birth centenary.
