Clinical Skills Event (CSE) provides educational opportunities for members from across the globe to enhance and demonstrate their clinical pharmaceutical knowledge. The purpose of this event is to increase pharmacy students' awareness of the importance of the pharmacist's role in direct patient care.

Individuals and teams compete by demonstrating their skills in

1. assessing patient information and current therapy

2. identifying and prioritising drug therapy problems

3. identifying treatment goals, and recommending a pharmaceutical care plan.

This activity is an interactive, individual or team-based analysis of clinical scenarios for hospital/health-system pharmacists and is open to all students ranging from first year students to recent graduates.

The Patient Counselling Event (PCE) aims to demonstrate the importance of communication and counselling skills for pharmacists, increase the awareness of pharmacists as public educators, and encourage and promote the development of the pharmacy profession through an expanded scope of practice.

The main objectives for the Patient Counselling Event are

1. to promote training in communication skills

2. provide an opportunity for pharmacy students and pharmacists to learn how to effectively interact with patients

3. determine and address any drug therapy problems

4. educate patients on many medications and disease states in a fun and competitive environment.

The Compounding Event (CE) was created to highlight the importance and the necessity of compounding skills within the pharmacy profession, especially as we are moving towards personalised medicine in health care.

The Compounding Event has four main objectives:

1. To raise awareness about the importance of compounding within the pharmacy profession and quality/security measures regarding the production of compounded pharmaceutical products

2. To teach students to recognise that certain patients may have the need for individualised pharmaceutical preparations that may not be readily available

3. To provide students with an opportunity to develop their knowledge in designing and preparing compounded pharmaceutical formulations

4. To provide pharmacy students with an opportunity to practice their compounding skills in an environment that is conducive to learning

The CE generally has two levels of difficulty — beginner and advanced — and typically begins with an introductory workshop. Following the workshop, students will be given a case and will be challenged to determine the best method to compound the formulation and prepare a finished product.

Competitions often focus on patient-centric design, sustainability, and the overall safety and effectiveness of drug packaging, requiring participants to demonstrate creativity and technical knowledge in a practical context. 

This competition mainly focus on:

• Technical Knowledge: Participants are expected to demonstrate knowledge of material properties, regulatory compliance, and the practical aspects of drug packaging. 

• Patient-Centric Design: Many competitions prioritize designs that enhance safety, adherence, and the overall patient experience. 

• Sustainability: Environmental considerations, such as recyclability and reduced carbon footprints, are increasingly important criteria. 

Kompetisi yang terfokus pada kreativitas peserta dalam menyajikan hasil penelitian, gagasan inovatif, program kesehatan atau penyuluhan, ide kreatif, dan lain sebagainya sesuai dengan tema yang diangkat dalam format visual yang padat, jelas, inovatif, dan menarik.

Lomba poster bertujuan untuk mengkomunikasikan informasi yang kompleks kepada audiens dengan gaya visual yang menarik, dan menyampaikan kedalaman ilmu pada masyarakat dengan latar belakang yang beragam.

Berdasarkan jenis kontennya, lomba poster bisa dapat berupa hasil dari case studies, hasil penelitian, systematic review, gagasan inovatif, pengabdian masyarakat, program kesehatan, atau program penyuluhan.

Lomba poster sering dikemas dalam bentuk presentasi poster pada juri maupun audiens, atau hanya publikasi.

Kompetisi akademik yang diselenggarakan untuk menuangkan gagasan, hasil penelitian, systematic review, atau analisis terhadap topik/tema yang diangkat ke dalam bentuk tulisan ilmiah yang sistematis, objektif, dan logis. KTI umumnya berbasis data yang empiris dan disajikan secara objektif.

Lomba KTI digunakan sebagai ajang bagi mahasiswa untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, analisis permasalahan secara mendalam, dan kreatif dalam menghasilkan solusi berbasis ilmu pengetahuan.

Umumnya, jenis-jenis KTI yang sering dilombakan adalah berbasis penelitian dan gagasan inovatif. KTI sangat menjunjung tinggi orisinalitas karya dan kedalaman analisis.

Lomba debat yang umumnya diadakan dan diikuti oleh mahasiswa farmasi adalah Lomba Debat Kefarmasian dan Debat Kesehatan.

Kedua lomba debat ini dirancang untuk menguji kemampuan analisis kritis, pemahaman mendalam tehadap isu-isu kesehatan terkini, keterampilan komunikasi dan penyampaian gagasan serta pendapat secara sistematis dengan berbasis bukti ilmiah.

Topik debat yang diangkat umumnya adalah topik-topik kompleks yang secara aktual sedang dihadapi di dunia kefarmasian dan kesehatan. Meliputi inovasi ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi kesehatan, regulasi dan perundang-undangan, hingga ranah etika profesi.
