Welcome!
I'm a fifth year PhD candidate in the Department of Linguistics at UC Berkeley, advised by Amy Rose Deal. My primary research interests are in semantics, syntax, and language documentation. Much of my recent work focuses on modality and self-reference in attitude reports across languages.
Since 2019, I have been working on the documentation and description of Bishnupriya Manipuri in collaboration with speakers based in New York City and with the Endangered Language Alliance.
I’ll be in Tokyo (Sep 10–12) for TripleA 12, where I’m giving a talk with Uttam Singha titled “Asymmetries in the expression of modality in Bishnupriya Manipuri”
I'll be attending NELS 56 at NYU (Oct 17–19), presenting a poster titled “Revisiting the syntax–semantics mapping of modals: Evidence from Marathi”
My paper “Interpreting the shifty first person inclusive pronoun in Marathi” has been published in the Proceedings of SALT 34; you can find it here!
A pre-print of my TripleA 11 paper, “De re readings of the Lobi logophoric pronoun: Results and diagnostics” is also available here
