Akib Jayed Islam, a graduate student in the Department of Computer Science at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Gjøvik, Norway, has recently completed his education. He was honored with the Erasmus Mundus scholarship, enabling him to pursue an EMJMD in Computational Colour and Spectral Imaging (COSI). This prestigious program was conducted at two distinguished institutions: the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Gjøvik, Norway, and the University Jean Monnet Saint-Etienne (UJM) in France.

Akib Jayed Islam received his B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) from the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) in 2016. The same year, he joined the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Port City International University (PCIU), Chittagong, as a Lecturer. In January 2020, he was promoted to Senior Lecturer. As a faculty member, his core responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses, developing course materials, conducting laboratory courses, and supervising final-year research projects. He was also in charge of supervising and tutoring PCIU Robotics Club and IEEE PCIU Student Branch students on using available hardware and software to complete labs and acquire additional knowledge in robotics and engineering. His paper titled "Design and Performance Analysis of a Multiband Microstrip Patch Array Antenna at Ku and K Band" received the "Best Paper Award" in the Antenna & Propagation Track at ICISET-2018, sponsored by IEEE.

Outside of research, he is also passionate about volunteering and participating in extracurricular activities.
