I am a researcher in biomedical signal analysis and developed a pneumatic rehabilitation robotic exoskeleton system with EMG based control for the human lower limb. My most profound ambition has been to contribute something to the society that would help them in some way possible.

I am currently working as Asst Professor at National Institute of Engineering Mysuru. my PhD research was in rehabilitation robotics (Bio-Mechanics) from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at National Institute of Technology Calicut, under the supervision of Prof. P. K. Rajendrakumar and Prof. K. S. Sivanandan. My research activities include the design and development of lower limb exoskeleton for rehabilitation, the effect of surface conditions in muscle activity and electromyography signal based control of the supporting devices. I have worked on the external and internal parameters which affect the human joint torque under the different surface and walking conditions.

Before the role of researcher, I worked as an assistant professor at Heera College of Engineering and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram. Prior to PhD, I did my Post graduation (M.Tech) from Sree Chitra Tirunal College of Engineering in Machine Design. I received my graduation (B.Tech) from Mohandas College of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering.

PhD dissertation title: Design, Development and Control of a Pneumatically Activated Human Locomotion System

OVERVIEW OF RESEARCH

A rotary pneumatic actuator for the actuation of the exoskeleton knee joint

Analyzed the effect and interaction of body mass index and chair height on knee torque at various sitting speeds using two-way analysis of variance

Developed control system for Human Gait Recognition Using Hip, Knee and Ankle Joint Ratios

The study compares the activity of hamstring and gastrocnemius muscles during walking on a treadmill, utilizing both even and uneven planes
