What is a typical day?

Children might use magnifying glasses to examine bugs, build forts with downed trees, or search books to see if a berry is safe to eat.  Leaders help children follow their interests and find their own answers.  Every day is different!

What do we need to bring?

There are no needed supplies.  Some families bring water and a snack.  You are welcome to bring your own nature exploration supplies.

Do you cancel class?

We generally follow the Anchorage School District's cancellations.  This is typically due to dangerous road conditions.  We hold classes if it is raining, windy or below zero!

How do we pay?

Sessions are paid monthly at $14 a class. If you want to pay as you attend, the fee is $18 per class.  Please contact us if this a hardship and we can discuss options.

Can I attend both days?

You are welcome to join us one or two days a week.

What about illness?

For the benefit of all families, please keep your child home if he/she is sick.

How do I register?

You complete a registration form and waiver. Payment is completed in the school shop. The "Register" link above has links to each step. 

What about bears? moose?

We often discuss animal encounter safety.  I carry bear spray and the children learn to gather behind me if we run into an animal.
