I am Abhradeep Karmakar, and I am on the 2023-24 job market. Here is my CV and my job market paper

I completed my PhD in Economics from the University of New Mexico in 2023, and now I am working as a Visiting Assistant Professor at St. Lawrence University. My bachelor's and master's degrees were obtained from the University of Calcutta in 2014 and 2016, respectively. 

As an aspiring applied micro-economist, my research interests are in evaluating the education and health impacts of public programs in both developed and developing countries. Currently, I am working on two different papers. In these papers, I study the human capital benefits of the Right to Education Act in India, and the effect of the Clean India Mission Sanitation program on children's cognition outcomes in India. 

I also have an ongoing collaboration with the University of New Mexico's Health Sciences Center. In this collaborative project, we study the negative health changes of New Mexican residents during the COVID-19 health emergency, using data collected through an individual-level survey.

At St. Lawrence University, I teach Intermediate Macroeconomics, and Development Economics. I enjoy interacting with students, and helping them learn new ideas and concepts.
