This portfolio highlights both coursework and artifacts created during the preparatory program at Kent State, and artifacts, examples, and evidence from real practice in the field. Learned coursework oftentimes went directly into practice, refinement projects, process improvement, or visionary adjustments to practice.
The portfolio parameters, as given by the exam committee team, asked to address each of the eight (8) NELP standards, and provide the following explorations for each standard:
A description of the standard and its applicability to your work as a school district administrator.
An artifact from your EDLE doctoral coursework that relates to the standard.
A narrative explaining how the artifact addresses the standard, either partially or in its entirety.
The descriptions and sample ideations around each standard came directly from the NELP District Level document, available here, along with an explanation, connection, and nested in real-life application.
An artifact from the doctoral coursework that connects with each standard is presented, along with additional implementations, applications, or actual processes that further enhanced the connection and understanding. Artifacts include coursework, projects, images, videos, blog posts, portals, physical objects, etc.
A narrative that connects the standard to the artifact provides a deep appreciation for the standard, professional learning, and real-life application.
