My name is Ajmal Khan A.T. I am a multidisciplinary scholar of the environment, development, and climate change. My research analyzes democratic and justice challenges in the context of state-led development, environmental change, and anthropogenic climate change.
I am currently an Assistant Professor at Shiv Nadar University in Delhi, India. I was a post-doctoral fellow at the Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Institute, Harvard University. I continue to be an affiliate fellow with the South Asia Institute, Harvard University. Before joining Harvard, I was a Charles Wallace Trust fellow at the SOAS, University of London.
I am one of the conveners of the Environment and Climate Change study group of the Development Studies Association in the UK and a fellow at the Earth System Governance Project based at Utrecht University, Netherlands. I also contribute to policy and practice challenges on climate change and development, where I consult and advise governments, international and intergovernmental organizations, policy-making bodies, and research organizations. I have been invited to speak at Harvard University, Columbia University, Oxford University, Princeton University, and Cambridge University, among others. I hold a Ph.D. in Development Studies from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, India.
