In Western music, "sad" songs tend to use minor scales while "happy" songs use major ones. I try explaining that quite a bit of this "sad" music has quick tempos, or is at least thematically connected with weddings, holidays, Shabbos, Torah, or other happy concepts. and the instruments that were used was Chimes,Violin,Clarenet. and in some songs like hava nagila it sound like church music and like there praisning on a slow tempo.
