DESIGN PRINCIPLES

UNITY, VARIETY, AND BALANCE

Unity, variety and balance principles are dominant in these compositions.

Comp 1 - Elements are close and touching to each other. All elements are dependent on each other. Letter element looks dominant, due to its orientation, compared to other elements.

Comp 2 - All elements are detached but united. Proximity forms the visual tension between elements, so they look related to each other.

A variety of shape elements, i.e.  line, leaf and letter, are used in these three compositions. These shapes and their colors create visual contrast. In Comp 1, 2 the  line is used as a design element. It represents a path and direction. In Comp 1 it shares an edge with the letter element and an alignment with the leaf and letter elements, which creates balance.
