DESIGNING WITH COLORS

To communicate an objective of this design, I used all the colors related to each season. I used Gestalt principles in this composition to create a maple leaf in the center. The colors used for each season are adjacent to each other. They create color harmony. The colors of autumn, winter are contrasting adjacent to spring and summer seasons. The combination of contrasting colors in this composition creates the illusion of long distance from the standpoint of the viewer.

Summer colors are replaced with monochromatic colors. As a result, this season is lacking in variety  and even though the shapes of both sides are the same, the monochromatic color rectangle looks bigger.

Both abstract designs symbolize a group and music industry. Left image: The combination of adjacent and complementary colors creates depth and gives this design a 3d shape. Circles are drawn to symbolize the microphone and a group of artists. Right image: The complementary colors create contrast in this design. Half circles symbolize a group of musical artists and horizontal lines symbolize guitar strings.
