Vestra is a device orchestration software for robotic biotech research labs. It runs arbitrary numbers of workflows in parallel on arbitrary lab devices. With Vestra, it is easy to create workflows, define & test device drivers, run robots in parallel, and connect with proprietary software.

Vestra runs in Windows using Node-RED as a GUI and Python for low level device connections. It comes with a configurable IPC interface for connecting with proprietary software in arbitrary languages based on gRPC. A SQL database is used to define all lab devices as well as persistently store workflow state in case of human intervention.
