Vocily ("the App", "we", "us") is an AI voice application that lets you change your voice with audio effects (including pitch, speed and noise reduction), convert text to speech, and translate text with spoken output. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and the choices you have.
By using Vocily, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Access
The App requests the following device permissions:
- Microphone (Record Audio): to record your voice for the Voice Changer and for voice input in the Translator.
- Storage (Android 9 and below only): to save and export the audio you create. On newer Android versions the App saves files in its own storage or in the location you choose.
- Internet and Network State: to download voice and language models, to perform language lookups, to show ads, and to send analytics and crash reports.
- Foreground Service, Wake Lock and Boot Completed: used by system components, for example so that a model download can finish or resume reliably after a restart.
- Advertising ID: used by Google AdMob for advertising, subject to your consent choices and your device settings.
Vocily does not require you to create an account, and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number or contact list.
2. How Your Voice and Text Are Processed
- Voice Changer: audio you record or import is processed on your device to apply the selected effect, pitch, speed and noise reduction. The result is saved on your device.
- Text to Speech: text you type is converted into spoken audio on your device, using the text-to-speech engine installed on your device or voice models downloaded by the App.
- Translator (typed text): text you enter is translated using Google's on-device ML Kit Translation technology. Language packs are downloaded the first time you use a language, after which translation can work without a connection.
- Translator (voice input): if you use the microphone button to speak, your speech is converted to text by your device's speech recognition service (usually provided by Google). Depending on your device and its settings, this service may send your audio to its provider's servers for recognition. This is handled by that provider under its own privacy policy. Vocily does not receive, store or share this audio.
Vocily does not upload your recordings, text or translations to our own servers, and we do not sell them. We do not use your recordings to train AI models or to identify you. We do not send your recordings, text or translations to our advertising or analytics providers.
3. Model Downloads
Voice models and language packs are downloaded over the internet, mostly on Wi-Fi. Voice models are downloaded from GitHub and language packs from Google. The hosting provider may receive technical information such as your IP address when you download a file.
4. Data Storage
Voice recordings, generated audio and saved translations are stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the App or clearing its storage removes this content. We keep no copy.
5. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party technology. They handle data under their own privacy policies.
- Google ML Kit (on-device translation and language identification). See https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Your device's speech recognition service (for voice input in the Translator), as described in Section 2.
- GitHub (voice model downloads), as described in Section 3.
- Google AdMob (advertising) and Google User Messaging Platform (consent), as described in Section 9.
- Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring and Remote Config), as described in Section 10.
6. Children's Privacy
Vocily is not directed at children under 13 (or the higher minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.
7. Your Choices
- You can deny or revoke the Microphone or Storage permission at any time in your device Settings. This will limit or disable the Voice Changer, voice input and saving features.
- You can delete saved audio and translations in the App's library, or remove all App data by uninstalling the App.
- You can change your ad consent choice at any time (where available) in the App under Settings > Privacy > "Ad privacy settings".
- You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ads personalization in your device settings.
8. Security
Your recordings and text stay inside the App's storage on your device. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Advertising and Consent
Vocily shows ads provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, AdMob and Google may collect and use information such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and ad interaction data. Ads may be personalized or non-personalized depending on your choice. See https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads for how Google uses data from advertising.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another region that requires consent, the App shows a consent form (Google User Messaging Platform) before ads are requested. You can change your choice at any time from Settings > Privacy > "Ad privacy settings" inside the App. You can also reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings.
10. Analytics, Crash Reports and Performance
The App uses Firebase services provided by Google to understand how the App is used and to fix problems. These services may collect information such as screens viewed, in-app events (for example, when a voice is generated, saved or shared), device model, operating system version, app version, crash logs, performance data, IP address and an app installation identifier. We do not send your recordings, text or translations to these services. Firebase Remote Config is used to adjust app settings, including ad settings. See https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy for details.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the revised policy.
