The 2nd International Workshop on
AI Systems for the Environment
(AISE-2026 @ IJCAI-ECAI)
15/16/17 August 2026

Tackling sustainability challenges such as renewable energy management, biodiversity conservation, circular economy design, and reducing AI’s own environmental footprint requires solutions that can operate in complex, interconnected settings. Building on the experience of AISE 2025, AISE 2026 brings together researchers working at the intersection of artificial intelligence and environmental sustainability to explore how AI methods can support more effective and responsible decision-making in these domains. The workshop welcomes contributions from a wide range of AI areas, including machine learning, optimisation, agent-based modelling, reinforcement learning, and beyond, applied to pressing sustainability problems.
Previous edition:
AISE 2026 aims to provide a focused setting for discussion and exchange among researchers interested in sustainability-oriented AI. The workshop will feature presentations of both methodological advances and application-driven work, with an emphasis on clarity of assumptions, real-world relevance, and interdisciplinary perspectives. Whether your work develops new AI techniques or applies existing methods to environmental challenges, AISE 2026 offers a space to share ideas, receive feedback, and connect with others working on related problems.
AISE is a workshop organised as part of, and co-located with, IJCAI-ECAI 2026, the 35th International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence.
