Welcome!

The Chaparral Thespian Society is a student-led club at Aubrey High School in Aubrey, Texas. We are primarily organized by a council of 4 students as well as our director. As a council, we prioritize the enjoyment and theatre education of our members. We aim to produce at least one black box production, one main stage show/musical, compete in one act play, and host a school wide talent show.

With our auditorium, we have something for everybody’s individual interests. The Chaparral Thespians are a dynamic and talented group of student artists.

We are always welcoming new members and support from our audiences and community. If you are a student and are interested in our organization, feel free to join us at our next meeting! If you are a parent looking to support your child and our club, we are in the process of setting up a Boosters page and will contact them for further information. What is the International Thespian Society?

The International Thespian Society is an honorary organization for high school theatre students. The Society’s mission is to honor student achievement in the theatre arts. Students earn induction by participating in an affiliated school’s theatre program and accumulating points based on the quality and quantity of their work in theatre. High school inductees are known as Thespians and junior high/middle school inductees are known as Junior Thespians.

How do students benefit from International Thespian Society affiliation?

Thespians receive the highest recognition due those who have demonstrated commitment and excellence in their school’s theatre program—induction into the world’s largest theatre honor society. In addition to the many tangible benefits listed below, inductees enjoy the sense of community and recognition inherent in being inducted into an honor society. ITS membership and its system of progressive honors and recognition encourages them to practice their craft and to grow as a person. The 21st century skills that they learn from a quality theatre arts education—creativity, self-confidence, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as specific theatre skills—will benefit them throughout school and beyond.
