AirUP Reps (“AirUP,” “we,” “our,” or “the app”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what data the app processes, how it’s used, and the choices you have. AirUP is designed privacy-first: processing happens on your device, and data is not sent to our servers.
This policy applies to the AirUP iOS application. It does not cover third-party websites or services you may access separately.
Source: AirPods motion sensors via Apple APIs (e.g., CMHeadphoneMotionManager).
Purpose: Detect reps for supported exercises (currently squats) and estimate effort (e.g., rep count, set summaries).
What we do not access: Microphone/audio, precise location, contacts.
Calibration data for supported exercises (currently squats) — stored with UserDefaults.
Workout history (rep counts, streaks, timestamps) — stored with SwiftData.
App preferences (UI/settings).
Processing model: Motion processing is performed in real time on-device. AirUP does not transmit data to external servers.
We use the above data solely to:
Detect and count squat repetitions.
Display history, streaks, and simple summaries.
Calibrate tracking to your movement.
Provide in-workout visual feedback.
No data is used for advertising or sold to third parties.
Apple Health (future, optional): AirUP may offer Health app integration later. If you choose to enable it, we will only read/write categories you approve (e.g., Workouts/Active Energy). Health data would be used only to provide the feature, not for marketing, and you can revoke access at any time in Apple Health settings. We will update this policy before the feature goes live.
If we add new exercise types in the future, motion signals will be processed in a similar manner. We will update this policy and the in-app disclosure before changes take effect.
Local-only: Data remains on your device. We do not host, collect, or store your personal data on our servers.
Security: Your data benefits from iOS/device security. Protect access to your device (e.g., passcode/biometrics).
Motion access: Required to read AirPods motion signals for squats. You can grant or revoke this any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Motion & Fitness.
View data: Workout history is viewable in-app.
Delete data: Use the in-app reset/clear option or delete the app to remove locally stored data.
Revoke permissions: Disable motion access in iOS Settings.
Data is retained only on your device until you delete it in-app or uninstall the app. Because we do not receive your data, we retain nothing.
AirUP is for general fitness use and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly process data from children under 13.
We do not sell, share, or transmit your data to third parties. There are no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in the app.
Because processing is local on your device and we do not collect or transfer data to our servers, there are no cross-border transfers by AirUP.
Legal bases (GDPR): On-device processing is necessary to provide the app features you request (performance of a contract) and based on your consent to motion access (which you can revoke).
Your rights: Access, deletion, and restriction are effectively handled by in-app controls and iOS settings since we don’t hold your data. If you contact us, we’ll help explain how to exercise these controls.
We may update this policy to reflect features or legal requirements. Changes will appear here with a new “Last Updated” date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
