Airfoil Rigidity
Airfoil Rigidity
The simulation we've considered involves an airfoil that is 5 ft long and only 1.2 inches wide with an aspect ratio of 50.
The airfoil can be made rigid by using two airfoils and creating a truss as illustrated below. The components between the airfoils will create very little additional drag, and the diagonal pieces could be created with the same profiles as the airfoils to create additonal lift.
Keep in mind that this will spin into and out of the page and create a large lift upward (or downward) while being fairly easy to spin.
