3. Information We Store Locally

Last Reset Date: When the daily counter was last reset
Purpose: To enforce the 5 analyses per day limit for Free users
Storage: Stored locally, resets automatically at midnight

Important: All this data stays on YOUR device. We cannot access it, and it's never sent to our servers (we don't even have servers!).

4. How the Extension Works

Understanding how our extension processes information:

4.1 Review Analysis Process

You visit an Amazon product page
You click "Analyze Reviews" in the extension
The extension reads reviews that are publicly visible on the page
Analysis happens locally in your browser using pattern matching and text analysis
Results are displayed to you in the extension popup
No data leaves your device - everything stays local

4.2 What Gets Analyzed

The extension temporarily processes (but does NOT store):

Product review text from Amazon pages
Review ratings (star ratings)
Review metadata (verified purchase status, review date)

Important: This data is only read from Amazon's website for real-time analysis and is NOT stored, collected, or transmitted anywhere.

5. Permissions Explained

Our extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

5.1 Storage Permission

Why we need it: To save your license key and usage count locally
What we do with it: Store Pro status and daily analysis count on your device
What we DON'T do: We don't sync this data or send it anywhere

5.2 Active Tab Permission

Why we need it: To detect when you're on an Amazon product page
What we do with it: Check the current page URL to enable the extension
What we DON'T do: We don't track your browsing or access non-Amazon pages

5.3 Host Permissions (Amazon domains)

Why we need it: To read reviews from Amazon product pages
Domains: amazon.com, amazon.ca, amazon.co.uk, amazon.de, amazon.fr, amazon.it, amazon.es, amazon.co.jp, amazon.in, amazon.com.au, amazon.com.br, amazon.com.mx
What we do with it: Read publicly visible reviews when you click "Analyze"
What we DON'T do: We don't access any other websites or your Amazon account information

6. Third-Party Services

6.1 Gumroad (Payment Processing)

When you purchase the Pro version, payment is processed by Gumroad:

What they collect: Payment information, email address, purchase details
Their role: Payment processing and license key generation

What we receive: Only your license key (no payment or personal info)

Important: We never see your payment information. Gumroad handles all payment processing securely.

6.2 Amazon

What we access: Publicly visible product reviews on Amazon pages

What we do: Read public reviews for analysis when you click the extension
What we DON'T do: We don't access your Amazon account, purchase history, or private information

7. Data Security

Even though we collect minimal data, we take security seriously:

Local Storage: All extension data is stored using Chrome's secure local storage API
No Transmission: No data is transmitted to external servers
No Encryption Needed: Since data stays on your device, it's protected by your device security
License Keys: Stored locally and never transmitted (except during Gumroad activation)
