Group Accommodation
It's harder to rent an apartment or a hotel room, so many people prefer to stay in group houses or apartments when they book via a property management service. These are more convenient; however, they do require more advance planning.
On the other hand, it's hard to find a rental company that matches up with a group house rented by the dozen. While these big rentals can house as many as 20-30 people, they are few and far between in comparison to a group- rented home. Good property management services will offer a wide range of properties and will advise you on the best option for your particular party.
Groups who travel together are social butterflies; they like meeting people from all over the world on a regular basis. Being in a group provides you with someone to talk to almost every day. Being in a group provides the opportunity to see and experience new parts of the world in a shorter amount of time. Being in a group allows you to relax and enjoy yourself, and is more fun than travelling alone. However, for those who do like to travel solo and meet new people on their trip, property management services cater for solo travellers as well - they offer single rooms and smaller studios, apartments or rooms in larger houses for a single person.
Group accommodation is rented out to groups looking to stay a week or more. Besides sleeping 8 people in a home, group accommodation can also include activities such as dance classes, running with bulls, cycling with bulls, snorkelling and so on. Tourists should speak to the property management service that their chosen property is registered with, and find out which additional resources and facilities are available to them, so that they can travel lighter.
Lodging is chosen by the group. Therefore, you might choose to stay in a home where vacations are part of everyday life. While group accommodation is an established fact, we are yet to see a case where a group decided to stay in a hotel. Before you decide entirely on the group house, however, you should consider the details especially if you have a toddler. Who will watch the house? How will food be prepared? Will Dining be available every day? A group house is not for everyone, and the property management services’ responsibility is to inform you of everything that is and is not included. You might not want to share a rental with strangers, but if a house is very large, then you may have an entire floor to yourself, and of course you will have keys to the areas of the property to rent.
Property management services almost always provide a range of options when it comes to serviced properties where catering and cleaning is provided, and rentals where you are self-catering, It’s a matter of preference, but make sure you check with your property management service before you book any accommodation, as deposits may not be refundable.
When dining with other travellers, you may choose the house that adds to your dining options. After all, you won't want to be served only one choice. You may want to ask specifically about their dining offerings. Any information that isn’t on the property management service’s website is always something you can find out if you contact them. Most services will reply to emails within a few days, or be available by telephone during working hours.
Does anyone have an expertise in the activities you might choose to participate in? If your children are young, you may want to select a home that specialises in child care. There are homes that specialise in this. Many of these have a playground and a hot dog cart inside.
Amenities like babysitting and concierge may be useful to you too. It makes it easier to have a place to let the kids burn off a bunch of energy.
This doesn't mean that children will be ignored by their parents. Cafes, restaurants and other family safe havens will be there for the children.
